3 of my 5 favorite bands circa 95. My first Archer's show was in NY, but Superchunk (the single greatest show I've ever been to) & Versus (opening up for Yo La Tengo) were at the [Ranch]adero, which I'm just now realizing I could have picked for this category, but I have a thematic pick with a rich history both familial and otherwise lined up instead.

I watched "Poor Things" last night. It's pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty f***ing great. It's hilarious, for one thing - Lanthimos has done more for the art of dance than anyone in living memory. The character development is fantastic, and Emma Stone's Oscar was a deserved mortal lock. Mark Ruffalo was just as good, and the rest of them did a great job. I don't know how it happened, exactly, but the fact that Lanthimos has infiltrated the mainstream is massively important for cinema in general. He and Wes Anderson have the potential to drag us into the future with style. I could do without the body horror though, please and thank you.

I didn't watch much of that game last night, but it felt like every time I looked up the Bruins were scoring, with Gritty falling down somewhere kind of in the vicinity.
