NHL Hockey Hall of Very Good

Yup. A few of them deserve to be in and may still get in.

Maybe Rod as a hybrid player and coach will make it in but I doubt any others.

Heck a strong argument can be made for several guys over Bill Barber IMO.

Roenick also has a good shot down the line.

Timonen deserves it but was so underrated that he probably wont.

The rest wont get in.

Barber had 420 goals in 903 games and another 53 goals and over 100 points in the Playoffs while being one of the best defensive wingers of his era. He's a surefire HOFer.

Jeremy didn't help his case with the comments he made this year.

As for Barber, I can see why he is in the HHOF my point was that several guys listed have as good careers IMO.

His career stats are fine but with only 2 top 10 goal finishes and once in assists and then once in points doesn't scream HHOF to me.

For the Flames in the last 25 years, the following guys would qualify (guys who played a least a couple seasons here):

-Robyn Regehr
-Miikka Kiprusoff
-Alex Tanguay
-Mark Giordano
-Johnny Gaudreau (on pace)

You also have Theo Fleury who is borderline HHoF, but if he isn't in that, he would be in this.

BONUS NON FLAMES RESPONSE: Chris Osgood isn't Hall of Very Good material. He's more Hall of Good material.

How do people see Mikko Koivu? Hall of Very good or more like Hall of Good? One of the best defensive forwards of his generation, 1000+ games with 700+ points. Captained the Wild for over a decade, being the first ever Captain of the team.

Lacks personal hardware and post season success.

Kipper is the only solid in that list, in my view.

He was nominated for a selke but came third in voting.

Looking at the Kings, I think Dustin Brown is a pretty interesting case. Kopitar and Doughty are almost certainly locks, Jonathan Quick I’m not sure, and Brown is probably not deserving. On pure stats alone, he doesn’t get in: 1,183 games played, 299 goals, 354 assists. But he’s also a two-time Stanley Cup-winning captain, the first American to do so, and he led the playoffs in scoring in 2012 (though he did not win the Conn Smythe). Is he a hall of famer? Probably not. Do his extra-curriculars elevate him to the Hall of Very Good? I don’t know.

I think he gets in and for good reason. It’s the hall of fame, not the hall of stats.

Jason Spezza belongs here but if he cracks 1,000 points, i can see him making the hall because of him playing in toronto alone.

Wait, did somebody just suggested TERRY CARKNER?
One of his cousins used to teach at my school, so naturally we'd bring in Terry Carkner cards to destroy in front of him. Looking back, it was strange that we'd get into more trouble for harassing the teacher than we did for lighting the cards on fire.

This thread was made for Milan hedjuk. He has a rocket however and I feel like most people don’t know that

He already has a Lady Byng. I think if he played with another elite talent he might have enough success to be higher, but I can't see it

I would be shocked if Spezza made the Hall of Fame before Alfredsson and Heatley from the 2007 Senators.
(Not saying Heatley is a Hall of Famer, just saying it's more likely for him to get in than Spezza.)

How good do you have to be to be in the Hall of Very Good? Would Mikko Koivu make it?
