Josi and Karlsson may not have grown to be the players they are in LA. This isn't a remark on the development staff, Sutter, etc. It's just they were a product of the environment they developed under, much like Kings players are in LA. Different experiences, relationships, and events may have influenced them differently.

Again, not picking on you, but I think it's important to recognize not all outcomes would be identical for all 31 teams

I’m not lamenting, nor do I think you were picking on me, I was just adding onto the post I had quoted. I agree that hindsight is 20/20, and really doesn’t do any good. But hey, sometimes it is fun, too. :)

If I felt that there was a huge gap between QB and TS, I would probably be angry if they didn't select QB. I like QB more for his potential ceiling but I also think that TS will be a star in the NHL. It's like one "Could" be a mega-star if he can harness all of that massive potential while the other will most likely be a 1st liner who has All-star potential but has a bit lower ceiling.

It's hard to not be excited by these choices. Neither QB or TS are going to be flops.

I swear, I wish this this place had the ability to like and laugh at posts without having to reply. The Kings contacted the Rangers about trading to #1? Or Ottawa about trading down to #3 potentially? How is this even news? This has been widely speculated for weeks. Of course they did. You have to kick the tires just in case someone agrees to something crazy. C'mon now.

Pro Tip: Tell them you are really giving them a massage, then once they are warmed and up and relaxed, then you go for the kill

Take it with a grain of salt ziggy, la did say they would package 28 and a 2cd or two to move up after that deal. This is very specific info. Again, talks happens and discussions happen about all kinds of deals we don’t ever hear. If LA does do these deals, la sports fan pretty much called his shot.

I take up the philosophy to never believe everything you read on the internet. Lot of talks take place around draft day.

Hi folks, Canucks fan coming in to wish you all well with your Picks tonight.

I’m confident that whoever you choose it will work out, as I think the Kings have a solid development program.

Hopefully this Draft gives you several pieces that end up in your lineup over the next few years. As much as I have grown to hate Drew whenever he played us in important games (so long ago), he was such a Franchise altering Pick and also a refreshing change in players sharing their personalities.

It’s been great to read the excitement in this Thread.

It's simple, if they get the deal they like it is TS if not they go with QB. I mean, sorry but it's that easy. But, the Kings are trying to get a deal done so I assume they prefer TS. However, I personally like QB.

I was thinking that maybe the interest to move to #1 is to make Byfield the first black player in NHL history to be selected first overall, which would create a huge buzz I would think. Listening to the Yannetti interview with John Hoven, it seemed pretty clear that they're set on who they're picking, unless out of the blue they were blown away by an outrageous offer (which Yannetti mentioned on All the Kings Men).

so basically you're saying if the Kings stay at 2, they take Byfield

So what you are saying is the Sens are looking to trade up for Byfield.
