Actually, that's not the way it unfolded. You are making it seem like you heard the Rangers piece Sunday and you came here to post it. Yet what actually transpired is that I said (no inside information whatsoever) that I was sure the Kings/Rangers have talked (like many teams do throughout this process) and it likely ended quickly. You then replied to my response saying "yes, I can confirm that did happen". Small difference but quite big in significance. Not saying you didn't know about it beforehand and simply didn't mention it first.....but fact is you didn't until the topic was first mentioned by a person who knows nothing (me).

Yes, you are right. However, it was something I heard but since I heard they where shut down yet the OTT stuff did have motion, I posted that since it had more merit whereas the Kings being shut down by the Rangers did not.

However, I did say it happened, did I not? Again, not an Insider, but don't throw me under the bus either.

You are right, some posters are throwing me under the bus so I decided to be silly. I'll just sit back like everyone else and watch everything unfold.

All I can say is, if you do have a credible source (I don't know and am in no position to say), are they okay with you posting details?

I got the okay, however its just scraps I'm being thrown. I mean these are all hypothetical scenarios I'm getting and I understand, people saying that's it's common sense, but I'm actually being told what certain picks are being discussed, what players are high on their list etc. Enjoy it!

Nothing he is saying is out-of-bounds whatsoever. To write off Ottawa simply being happy with whoever the Kings don't take would mean they are evenly split 50/50: they have to have a preference. I have no doubt that Blake has had talks with them to gauge how much that preference is worth. Doesn't mean that something would happen but the trade down idea is GM'ing 101 and was discussed on this board right after the lottery results.

The Kings also seeing what it would take to jump to #1 is also GM'ing 101. We aren't being given crazy rumors here. Hell, saying there are those in the organization pushing for TS isn't crazy either since the hockey world seems to be split on Byfield/Stutzle anyways.

Keep posting on posting, dude. You aren't saying anything that would make you look stupid if it doesn't happen: it is just common sense. People are going to be highly suspicious though when you just created your account and your username has a lower case "a" for LA, unless you are "the sports fan".

Any chance Justin Barron is on said list?

Great post, thanks.

I have an extremely hard time believing that the Kings haven't made their selection 3.5 hours before the draft.

Would it be hard to believe that they've been in talks with Ottawa and Ottawa hasn't gotten back to them one way or another? Sometimes these things are completed minutes before. So yes they're probably set on their guy @2 and @3 they just aren't sure if where they're picking as of yet.

I believe that the Kings will make a move today but that it will be to get into the 1st round later. It will depend on if they have a player they want and a deal structured but they have 3 2nds to play with and some teams have needs everywhere and can use the numbers more than one specific guy. That's where I can see them taking the #'s of picks more than one specific guy. The Kings almost have too many picks and need to consolidate a bit. More quality and ceiling than quantity at this point.

Of course. Doesn't mean that there is 100% buy-in from everyone in the organization. Also doesn't mean that Blake and Yanetti give two shits about it.

I'm a Sens fan, and I haven't got any indication that they have a strong preference for one player over another. Any time Dorion has spoke (which admittedly doesn't warrant a lot of faith), he said that they'd be picking whoever L.A. doesn't pick. Just based off of his interviews, he seems slightly more excited about Stutzle to me, and I've heard from some "insiders" that this is true.

Turcotte is a complete player. The speed he and TS would present to defenses would be incredible. They can put u on the other wing and they'd be okay regardless, lol.

Picking QB would mean moving players out of their original position, that's the only downfall. It might not be as big a deal, bit something to consider.
You do realise TS is a natural C that played on wing last year to fit into the pro lineup. So by playing wing he’d only do 1 year into the position. Turcotte has also played wing on the odd occasion and in general It’s relatively easy for a C to play wing. In any case it’s been made crystal clear by Yanetti that the Kings will not draft on positional need, zero chance. So it may be part of the argument for why you’d draft him, but not why the Kings would.
