Solid B to B+ from me.

I think for the all the crap Sweeney got for the Hamilton trade ( justly deserved ) he and his staff should get some recognition for a good draft. It's unfortunate that the Hamilton trade will cloud the good work that was done.

B- or C+ for draft day grade. You can't have that many players drafted that early and generate a lower grade.

The draft is about the long term viability of the organization. The Bruins did well to potentially secure that.

They sacrificed more than they needed to on the professional level to secure their future via the amateur level, though.

Great news on sheshyn. Know someone who played hockey with him. Has great skills but one of the biggest arseholses youll ever meet. Doesnt want to listen to coaches and is disliked by majority of his teamates. Apparently his ego outweighs his talents and he said that if we thought Seguins shenanigans were something then we are going to love this kid. Otherwise he isnt surprised he went high. He said thst he drips talent and to watch for him once he gets top line minutes .

You might have a job on the Bruins waiting for you. I mean, you're smarter than everyone else in the hockey world, so you'll fit right in.

It's like it doesn't matter at all to you that better trades would've been available to the ones made, or that better draft selections would've been possible than the ones made. To you it's irrelevant if you missed a star player, or two or three, because the player you drafted is 'a good hockey player so no worries'. Let me break it down to you man. The entire top 100 players of every draft class are good hockey players with varying degrees of upside. It doesn't mean you have to pick from the bottom of the pile.

Well I did like parise , Oshie , couture and Carlson for our pick those draft years so yes , I accept .

Bruins didn't like the one dimensional smaller or forwards round one . Sue them :)

High school rumor mill in action. Let's keep this in mind when trying to evaluate whether 18 yr old A is better than 18 yr old Z.

18 year old A and 18 year old Z may just well see the door if they dont get their ***** together . Especially with front office clearly not putting up with it.

Actually most teams dont put up with it. You may be new to hockey but have you ever heard of the term "locker room cancers"? Its why star players like Kane and Seguin get traded. As well as draft stocks falling in Kabanov or Sprong.

I guess your right though  . I wasnt aware on your insight on your unlimited knowledge on evaluation of prospects and players

My lack of knowledge on the evaluation of prospects is only rivaled by your knowledge of who is more dominant on the jungle gyms.

Please leave who stole whose lunch money out of our draft day evals.

Gave him a D.

Going by what he said, man he misleads alot or I have to think alot harder, he and the brain trust think the Bruins can be a playoff team this year. Ok, so who did they add to enhance that. A back up goalie that sees 20-25 games? A #5 ahl phenom D? 10 kids we wont see for three years?

Only reason he gets the D is because he added 10 players of varying talent to the organizational depth.

I'm hearing he wouldn't have made it past 17 FWIW

Zboril was on their list as was DeBrusk. And I'm sure Senyshyn was. They had 3 consecutive picks and they took
all three.

I have zero problems with whom they drafted. How they got the picks is a different story and shouldn't be used to judge the players selected. it's not their fault.

I sent an apology to Senyshyn myself. I made the mistake of linking his twitter so that fans could welcome him to Boston.

With some of the responses sent to him, like it was all his fault, it made me totally embarrassed to be a Bruins fan.

I am disgusted and embarrassed.

This is what I think as well. I gave a high grade based on the players they identified and drafted. I like them a lot. I can see a plan there. But I did not link that to the asset management part of it...how they acquired the pics.

Wow can't believe fans actually crapped on a young kid that just had his dream come true. Get some perspective you morons.

Thanks for the insight into some of the other teams' intentions.

he seemed to be pretty okay with playing a limited role. could have demanded a trade for more ice time and more recognition. seems a guy willing to play on the 3rd or 4th line in his draft year without demanding a trade is a team guy.

what I saw from his highlight videos was ridiculous outside speed. listed 6-1 but looks bigger due to his wide stance. might not have very good hands. seems to muff a lot of passes and shots, (and those are the highlights) but you can't teach speed. hes got a good shot too when he gets it off.

FO knew exactly who the wanted. Got to respect that. One thing for sure the identity of the bruins just got rewritten. Will see if it's for the best. Huge balls from the FO. Voted an A

Bang on. About the only thing that has made any sense in terms of clear direction since last off season.

By far. Carlo is just flat out nasty. Do I even have to speak about Gabrielle? If I remember correctly from last night, McKenzie said about Zboril "This guy will definitely have more than a few run ins with the department of player safety". That quote won me over. Lauzon has a serious physical edge to his game, and will play a shutdown role in the future. Senysyn also has the nasty in his game, big and lanky frame with physicality. That all sounds like a new era of Big Bad Bruins. Nasty Bruins.

Yes and no. I think "aggression" is the proper adjective that was used. Some are definitely projected to be big and bad, but more importantly they can skate, transition, compete, and cause anxiety for the other team.

Dale Gagne @GagneDale
@kluedeke29 interesting story here in Canada, the Leafs wanted Senshysyn (sp) badly and wound up trading down when he was taken. #darkhorse

It's really hard to take this guy's word seriously when he can't take 30 seconds to learn how to spell his name.

Senyshyn is going to be special. I am real high on the player (not the pick) and he will be up with the leaders in goals/pts in the OHL next year
Ok....

I HAAAAAAATE this pick. HATE IT.

This is hilarious. It shows you that people can't form their own opinion and just go by whatever other posters say.

52 Fs? Are there numerous drug addicts here ?
It's not unwarranted when you pass on players like Barzal and Connor for players ranked much later. Our picks might turn out to be NHLers but I highly doubt they'll be better than the players they passed on.

I gave this draft a B grade. It would've warranted a higher grade if the Bruins took either Connor or Barzal.

The Bruins should've taken Ethan Bear just for the irony of the name being synonymous with a Bruin. And he ain't a bad player either. But Chiapet him took to spite the Bruins organization. LOL!

ah, the old "i know a guy who knows a guy" kind of story, always legit sources to run with:shakehead

The more I`m reading about this kid, the more I like him

Playing a 4th line role due to incredible depth in the Soo, puts up 45 pts doing so in his rookie year....while this pick might have been a young man who "could" have been had in the 2nd, we have no clue if he was on another teams radar and taken before that

I have little issues with the picks made in the first two rounds based on what I`ve read here about those kids

Have to be honest, this draft and last draft from the responses/articles I have read from those I respect have me thinking the brutal history of the Chia days of drafting alot of junk are hopefully over
