I have a feeling Trotz is going to be an excellent GM. I wish we could have kept him here to be our next GM.

I would love to find our way back into the 1st round and get Yager. Really think hes an underrated prospect.
He’s in the driver’s seat right now. Anyone can demo, it’s the building that separates everyone.

Granted I really have never watched him play. But everything I'm reading about him is that he has #1 power play quarterback potential.

An absolute rocket for a shot, moves the puck at a high level, and can hold his own on defense. Only thing that has him slipping is his frame. He's 6'0 160 lbs, so he can get knocked off the puck easily. Just have to hope he grows into his body.

Well, he also has a year in the USHL or BCHL ahead of them, then he goes to UMASS.

Definitely an interesting project for teams that have plenty of time to wait, which is often teams that have or have had a healthy supply of draft capital.

The weight should definitely come over the course of time.

These are my players of interest list. I left off most first rounders. I have a few that could go in the first round. I have highly rated 2nd rounders because some can slip or we could trade up. This this isn’t in a particular order.

Forwards and defenseman

Bradly Nadeau, LW, Penticton (BCHL), 5-10, 161- projected 2nd round-
This kid is a beast. Has an incredible shot. The BCHL isn’t that strong but he’s headed to the NCAA and will really get tested. If we took him I’d also take his brother in the later rounds whos a year older and headed to Maine with him.

Riley Heidt, C, Prince George (WHL), 5-10, 178 projected late 1st/early to mid 2nd second. I have him as a 1st rounder but I keep seeing mocks and rankings with him in the 2nd round. He’s an excellent2 way center and would instantly become our #1 prospect(not saying much)

David Edstrom C Frolunda JR 6’3 185- Projected late 1st/2nd- this is my most desired player at 49 but I don’t think he makes it there. He’s got too much upside to fall that far. He reminds me of Raty. Big, Skilled and already has an understanding of the defensive game.

Aydar Suniev W Penticton(BCHL) 6’2 200-projected 3rd-5th. I absolutely love this kid. I have him higher than most. I have him as a 2nd rounder. Teammates with Nadeau they lit up the BCHL together. He’s strong on the puck and goes hard to the net.

Daniil But, LW, Loko Yaroslavl (MHL), 6-5, 203-projected 1st/2nd- admittedly I’ve only seen mostly videos and scouting reports but his upside is unreal. I have a feeling he goes in the first round.

Beau Akey D Barrie (OHL) 6’0 170- projected 2nd/3rd. He’s a steady 2way defenseman who I believe can become a top6 defenseman in the NHL

Charlie Stramel, C, Wisconsin (NCAA), 6-3, 212- projected 2nd/3rd. This is a homerun pick. Stramel had a tough year in college but supposedly he was banged up. He was once seen as a top10 talent in this draft. If he reaches his potential he could be a really good 2way #2 center.

Nick Lardis LW Hamilton(OHL) 5’11 170-projected 2nd/early 3rd. This kid has tons of skill and can score goals.

Connor Levis C Kamloops(WHL) 6’2 190- projected late 2nd- 4th - big kid who had a solid year on an ok team. Teammates with isles draft pick Dylan Kueffner

Gracyn Sawchyn, C, Seattle (WHL), 5-11, 157- projected 2nd. I love this kid! He had an incredible playoffs and memorial cup. He’s all motor and heart. Loved what I saw during the memorial cup.

Brady Cleavland D NTDP 6’4 205-projected 4th-6th big boy who moves well for his size(similar to mayfield). I think he can develop into a top6 defenseman. He’s 4-5 years away in my opinion

Etienne Morin D, Moncton(Q) 6’0 180- projected 2nd. This kid is a beast. Had an incredible playoffs. Played tough minutes and produced. He’s solid all around and can skate. I think he has legit top4 upside.

Luca Pinelli C Ottawa(OHL) 5’9 170-projected 2nd/3rd. He’s small but stocky. He’s got a lot of skill and can play a 2way game. Reminds me of a faster bit more skilled Pageau.

Aram Minnetiam D UTDP 6’0 170-projected 3rd-4th. Tremendous skater! Played big tough minutes for the US team. He’s going to a stacked BC team. I have him higher than most and think he has top4(2nd pair) potential.

Paul Fischer D UTDP 6’1 185- Defensive Defenseman! This kid is rock solid. He’s tough to play against. Gives opposing forwards fits. Always looking to block shots too. I think he has definite NHL top6 potential and can be a big contributor on the PK.

Hunter Anderson F Shattuck USHS 5’9 180- projected. 5th-7th. I’ve never seen him play but from the little highlights and the reports he lit up the prep league. I saw 2 separate scouts compare him to Marchand and that was good enough for me. I’d take a flier on him in the later rounds if none of the higher guys slipped.

Tristan Bertucci D Firebirds(OHL) 6’2 177 -projected 3rd -4th He knows how to defend. He knows where he’s supposed to be. He defends well with his stick. He reminds me of Adam Pelech when he was with Erie.

Goalies

Jacob Flower G Phantoms USHL 6’2 210- Projected-2nd-4th This kid is a gamer. Stepped up and led his team to the USHL championship. He’s going to BC. He’s quick and athletic as hell. He’s so calm in net. If we’re taking a goalie I’d be ecstatic with him. A fee training camps with Korn can get Flower headed towards Franchise goalie.

Damian Clara G Farjestad BK J20 6’6 210- Projected-4th-7th. I’ve never seen him play but he’s intriguing. Scouts feel he could be a hidden gem. Reports are that he’s rising in Sweden and that they’re impressed with his poise and skill at his size.

If we trade our 2nd in this class I'm going to be LIVID
If we get rid of a bad contract i'll get it.

But I want to keep #49 and take someone who has upside should he not be taken. I really want Hunter Brzustewicz at that range

I do some work on the side for Eyes On Isles if anyone wants to take a gander at my projections for pick 49. There's a lot to like, and I just hope they don't screw it up.

Our system is paper thin. This is a deep draft. If we scouted right we can get a solid prospect at 49

I think he’s going to be 1st round possibly or early second. He’s got all the tools that scouts and teams fall in love with. He’s so smooth and a fluid mover with the puck. He’s got high IQ too and really knows how to generate offense. And he’s a right shot. I would have had him on my list but I really expect him to go in the 1st round.

thats my fear. I really want a defenseman like him. Skip to my Lou's picks aren't bad either, so no complaints

He would be a great addition to the pool and instantly become our #1 prospect and obviously best defensive prospect over Odelius and George.

Nice write up!!!

I’m intrigued by Cirenik. Whitelaw just feels like he’s going to make it no matter gets. His game he can end up playing in any role on any line. I think he has a high floor meaning there’s a good chance he can make the NHL and if the offense never fully pans out he can be a productive bottom6 guy.

Cam Allen gives me Ryan Murphy vibes. And Murphy was way more productive and dynamic in junior. He’s got good size though. I just feel like he doesn’t do any one thing spectacular to warrant a top 100 selection. I can see a team taking a chance on him in the 3rd round and I can also see him falling hard.

Thank you my man!

Whitelaw and Ciernik are two of my favorites for sure. I also have such a soft spot for Lindstein's game. If he ever improves his offense, he could be one of the better defensemen in this class.

I agree with Cam Allen. He's definitely a big swing prospect, but the accolades are hard to ignore. You see the talent, but that's why I think he's a much longer term prospect. Can for sure see him fall to the 3rd-4th if anything.

Prediction: If CLB takes Michkov, he’ll turn out to be Filatov. If he goes anywhere else, he’s Malkin.

Missing my first draft since I was 6 years old. Since when is it on Wednesday and not Friday night?

Seems like they want to bundle the NHL Awards and the Draft together so they are changing the day the draft is to accommodate that. It's a good idea to bundle the events but it should be over the weekend and not in the middle of the week. Maybe that happened due to arena availability?

Great list. You have a bunch of my favorites on there. I REALLY like Etienne Morin, he’s my favorite for the Isles. Though I think they go with a forward in round 2, since they drafted several Dmen last year.

Kinda need to get a center also, since this team is so desperate for centers. We've drafted like three over the past 5 years and one of them was traded for Horvat. Its getting very thin so I could see us taking any center that has 2-3C potential.
