now do on-ice shooting %
or percentage of time together on ice between Matthews and Marner compared to McDavid and his teammates

Umm... why don't you provide the stats since you are trying to rebuttal.

btw... at the same time look at the amount of PPs handed freely to McDrai compared to Matthews too

Sorry honey, wouldn't change the fact that McDavid gets significantly more ice than Matthews. P/60, time on PP etc illustrates quite clearly....Matthews MVP AINEC

Matthews
Gaudreau
Huberdeau/McDavid/Shesterkin (goalies are hard to value unfort, works against Igor)
doesn't change the fact Leafs win without Matthews either

and quality of teammates matter

Rest of the league knows who the floating art Ross trophy winner is. Best player in the game and MVP is Auston Matthews.
He blows your boy away... it sucks to have a 60 goal scorer and still look up to greatness.

It's ok bud.

Pretty sure his 11 empty net points level that shooting percentage out a little, that’s not included without a goalie in net for the other team.

Connor McDavid is literally almost 20 points clear of Matthews.

in no world will he win the Hart over McGoat, unless the Leaf media and homers push an agenda to do so.

The rest of the league knows who the MVP is.
The rest of the League knows its Matthews, Matthews has a far better all around game and blows Connor out of the water with his 2 way play.

LMAO that is proof. a.k.a FACTS

GF% matters. Production given ice time matters! Not flopping like fish out of water everytime someone breathes near you matters.

If you dont think it matters don't have to look far just see how Jets absolutely sweeped the crap out of oilers last season.

They swept the Oilers. Does the crap come out after 2 or 3 OT losses though? That was a close series despite the lopsided win result.

Yeah this is actually a pretty compelling argument in favor of McDavid.

Oilers without McDavid are a whole lot worse than the Leafs without Matthews. I think Matthews missing so many games this season and the Leafs continuing to be able to roll regardless will definitely be a factor against him.

It’s pretty simple:
1. Matthews has 16 more goals than McDavid.
2. McDavid has 16 more points than Matthews.
3. Matthews has played 6 fewer games than McDavid.
4. Matthews is just flat out a much better defensively than McDavid and is one of the best in the league.
5. Currently have the exact same amount of even strength points.

It comes down to what’s better? 16 more goals with defensive play and one of three only players to get 60 goals post cap era VS. 16 more points with over 120 points so far

Obviously all of those players should be playing 5 or 6 MPG more every night thus guaranteeing their teams win every game...er well that's not really how it works but whatever.

All he would need is an extra minute on the powerplay but sure lol

Y'all keep saying the bold. The dude has some of the worst GA numbers in the league.

McDavid and Drai do not even feature for top 15 players in points/60
View attachment 536257

Also your claim about even strength GF% the diff b/w Matthews and McDavid is just 3 percentage points while points per 60 Matthews blows both McDrai out of water. If Matthew played as many minutes or got as many freebies penalties or flopped as much as McDrai to cry for penalties Matthews would be leading the league in points even with less ice time.

It’s undeniable when you look into the details as PromisedLand has.. minute for minute Matthews is noticeably more valuable. Power play is nice but it doesn’t equalize the monster that matthews has been at even strength.
