I'm sure Bobby loved Keenan.Only in Bobbys world is Torts a respected bench boss and Q (pre-Beach hoopla) isn't.

JR certainly expressed his love towards Iron Mike during his HOF speech ... but hey he was loving pretty much everyone! on that note JR's speech was refreshing in it's honesty.I'm sure Bobby loved Keenan.
He does, which is fine. But he would be a shitty coach just like Torts in todays day and age.I'm sure Bobby loved Keenan.

I remember back when Roenick had a podcast, he had Eddie O on and he had said the team was revolting and won the 94 Cup in spite of KeenanHe was shitty coach thru entire 2nd half of his NHL career after 94 cup
I realize I’m gonna feel dirty for agreeing with Bobby but the Flyer announcers on air were vocal that something needed to happen. It's still bullshit he sat at all, don't try to justify it lol.
So Q did the right thing, benching Kane for a few shifts, and not taking one of (or one of few in the Flyers case) your high offensive players completely out of the line up, but just letting him learn a lesson, in game? Talk to the kid, let him have a seat for a few shifts or even a period. Taking him out of 2 games is a ridiculous power trip by a power hungry coach.I realize I’m gonna feel dirty for agreeing with Bobby but the Flyer announcers on air were vocal that something needed to happen.
He was worse than pedestrian in his own zone. Kind of playing the half wall covering nobody waiting for his mates to win the puck for him.
Claiming (I rarely see flyer games) Tortorella after sitting him a few shifts even tried getting him to cover a point man … which is exactly what Q did with Patrick Kane after sitting him a few shifts. The difference is Kane accepted the role.
If you don’t make any effort at all defensively it means your linemates are always playing shorthanded.
I wrote they said he tried that. Didn’t work, not dressing had to be the next step and while some are pointing out the dumb penalty he was actually coming all the way back and playing his position. … not very well but honest effort is what he gave.So Q did the right thing, benching Kane for a few shifts, and not taking one of (or one of few in the Flyers case) your high offensive players completely out of the line up, but just letting him learn a lesson, in game? Hence, the country club was formed. So Q did the right thing, benching Kane for a few shifts, and not taking one of (or one of few in the Flyers case) your high offensive players completely out of the line up, but just letting him learn a lesson, in game? You mean the one that won 3 Stanley Cups? LolHence, the country club was formed.
Lol didn't work. Not one Flyer fan agrees with the move, that tells you all you need to know. Just because an announcer said that they agreed with it means diddly squat. He did the same shit with their captain last year, didn't make a difference.I wrote they said he tried that. You may be right. Considering the talking heads work for the team but the midday guys on NHL radio kind of agreed that he needed the wake up call and Mike Johnson is a former player.Lol didn't work. HF fans right and announcer wrong, don't make sense. Average HF fan barely knows rules and average announcer knows quite pit more than just rules.Lol didn't work. What a stupid statement. It’s not “ country club” to maximize players skills, it’s good coaching and getting the most out of the assets you are given.Hence, the country club was formed.
No one is denying that the 3 SCs was a great feat. But let's not kid ourselves. Q is an average coach who lucked out and found himself as HC of an ultra talented team. And with that great talent he could afford to shelter an offensively gifted Kane rather than try to transform him into a two-way performer. It worked, so Q deserves credit for that but I reckon any competent coach could have done the same.
Torterella would have worn out his welcome in year 3 with the team.No one is denying that the 3 SCs was a great feat. But let's not kid ourselves. Announcer right and all Flyer fans wrong makes less sense.HF fans right and announcer wrong, don't make sense. Average HF fan barely knows rules and average announcer knows quite pit more than just rules.
TBH.... who cares. So you hate the guy. We get it.Torterella would have worn out his welcome in year 3 with the team.

Anyone who has been on this board knows my views and they're not going to change. I loved the talent and the chemistry and the camaraderie of those winning teams but I also think the GM and coach were not major factors in their success. This subject has been rehashed ad nauseam so many times it's laughable. Shall we move on to the present and/or speculate on the future of the Hawks team?LMAO
Ya Q just lucked himself into the second most wins by any NHL coach ever and multiple Cups.
And I say that as someone who thinks it was time to move on from Q when Chicago did.
So do a lot of players. There's a reason he only lasts 3 or 4 years everywhere he goes. He sucks at his job.TBH.... who cares. So you hate the guy. We get it.
Certainly your opinion, not even close to fact though, all you have to do is ask the players their thoughts on Q, and that will prove you are wrong.Anyone who has been on this board knows my views and they're not going to change.
