After Torts scratched him for 2 games, Michkov responds with a goal and assist .... but took a dumb retaliation penalty (a punch to ops head) late in the game which could have cost Flyers the game. That won't sit well with Torts.

Stu Grimson just explained that he has shown some defensive shortcomings early in the season and was the reason he sat.

It's still bullshit he sat at all, don't try to justify it lol.

All the great coaches on this board ... it's amazing.

If Hawks decide to replace Luke they should definitely start here but who to pick? What a conundrum.

Roenick quite emotional during his HoF speech
Comes as no surprise. JR always wore his emotions on his sleeve. One of my favourite all-time Hawks.

Don't be so modest. It isn't everyday that a team can find a coach who doesn't need to watch games to evaluate a player. It's a gift.
Has nothing to do with that lol. It's the fact that you agree with every decision he makes, no matter how stupid it seems to everyone else. I repeat, every Flyer fan thinks it was a dumb decision, but here's Bobby, defending a shitty coach, once again.

London Knight player suspended 5 games for calling another player a........Mennonite .....lol

Well...at least he didn't call him a Kanannite.

Funny how, in your view, we're allowed to discuss the shortcomings of players, but not coaches.

My only hunch with the Mennonite suspension is that the OHL just really, really, really doesn’t want to deal with any player using truly heinous religious or ethnic slurs, so they have a zero tolerance policy for anything remotely close to using religion as an insult.

He also called another player a "p**sy" and got in trouble for that recently, which also seems completely absurd.

But pointing out the hypocrisy of religious types is hilarious though. I’m gonna start using Mennonite as an insult just for the pure confusion it’ll cause.

Bobby thought Q was a bad coach loudly for a long time if we're appealing to authority.
You mean the coach I watched for years every single game. The coach who nurtured certain players and created the Blackhawks country club. That's a big difference from criticizing because of hatred.

And for the record, I called for Stan and Q to both go years before it finally happened.... but it was far too late and look where the team is today.

You realize Flyer fans watch the team more than you, and I, and they are the ones that hate the Michov benching, right? Or are you too obtuse to recognize that?

And I'm pretty sure I watched Q coach every single game, and I loved him, he was a great coach who helped us win 3 f***ing Stanley Cups. lol You called for them to fire Q in like 2011, he won 2 Stanley Cups after that. lol Clearly you are the one that sucks at evaluating coaches.

No I haven't and it is exactly why I said I will not comment on this benching.

However I will say that Torts is a highly respected coach among those that know what the f*** they are talking about. The armchair coaches on this board who think they know more of what it takes to coach in the NHL than vets like Torts are only kidding themselves.
Make an appeal to authority or don't but you can't have it both ways.
