Seems a bit of an overpayment but they were first in and must have really wanted him. It is good to get him in early and get adjusted. Canucks are going for it and I like that.

They would allow it to relocate at discount if needed rather than that. We saw it happen with Thrashers when they were kicked out of building as part of sale of Hawks/Arena

NHL was right to not go previously, and IIHF/IOC appear to have walked back on some of the issues NHL had with sending players
Will also be curious to see if NHL will be able to use imagery/etc of players at Olympics. Remember last go round that was another reason for NHL to walk since they were not allowed to even promote players participation or benefit from it

I 1000000% agree with this. Sell to SLC and when there is a ‘real’ owner down the line for PHX then expand back there.

I’m confused with this Utah news, is Gary trying to expand to a 33rd team or relocate Arizona to Utah?
I’d imagine he (rightly) doesn’t want to lose out on that Arizona market but ownership and the arena situation(s) are bush-league.

Gary and owners are looking at another juicy expansion fee and who could blame them when you got a rich guy willing to pay from all accounts
At end of day Gary works for BOG so the Arizona being still alive is decision of owners in end. If they wanted it to end it would have ended with them relocated long ago
