I'm not saying this is right or wrong, but this is what happens when you jerk around more talented and better players in favor of guys that "work hard" Jiricek is young and shouldn't be gifted anything, but the way Pascal Vincent and CBJ Upper Management have handled Kent Johnson, Fantilli, Jiricek.. pretty awful lol.

Not to mention the whole Babcock situation. Not sure how ownership puts up with that any longer.

I mean we’re doing that with Reichel right now aren’t we? Dumbass coaches are gonna dumbass. At least the defensemen for the most part are being handled properly.

Maybe we can trade for Jiricek before Jarmo gets fired, get a deal.

On the flip side: A coach pampers an obviously skilled player who is cheating and isn't working and lets him get away with relying on his skill alone, and said player's NHL career is over after 5 years. Of course, the elite will likely survive but others will not.
Luke has been around the NHL his entire adult life. I think he knows a little more than the armchair coaches around here, most of whom haven't even coached a peewee team, never mind in the best league in the world.

My advice: quit pretending and let's see what Davidson and Richardson can accomplish in a tear-down rebuild. It's not going to happen overnight.

I wasn’t comparing it to Reichel at all in my comments. I think some aspects of it are similar, but I also think a lot of Reichels problems lay at Reichels feet.

Reichel hasn't even been sent to Rockford this year

He's had every opportunity, and he fails to do anything with it

How much would you charge LA to take on PLD for buyout? It’s a low cap hit for a long time. The man seems to ruin every team is a part of
 
Any massive city in the US can support a team. Houston and Atlanta are massive markets. If its a good arena and has a good location then I imagine it will work.

If you go to a big market and treat the team like shit and have a shitty arena and in a shitty location and a shitty team, don't be surprised if the team folds.
Exactly! Atlanta 2.0 was doing ok until ownership announced they were selling the team and any buyer would have to move it since they weren’t making the arena available for rent.
At that point the fans quit supporting the team.

Guys who have been "around the NHL" their entire life have proven not to be good head coaches before, and will continue to be. The fact a guy could play the game at a high level does not ensure he will be a good teacher, far from it.

And if "armchair coaches" are not supposed to have an opinion on the daily goings on in the NHL, might as well shut down the board right now.

Fans voicing their opinions to other fans is the entire point of this forum. Not sure how you don't understand that, given you're one of the fans doing exactly that.
