Gauthier is gonna stick in the NHL I just don't see a ton of upside. He reminds me of Chad Kilger. And a nineteen year old not wanting to sign with a franchise because of a rookie GM is lunacy if that's true.

I don't see Kilger comp. Kilger was gritty two-way C who didn't have much offensive upside that I recall

I see Gauthier as LW version of Ryan Callahan as upside with a little more size

There has to be more to the story for Gauthier to turn on Philly...read that he wanted to turn pro after his freshman college season and world championship tourney last spring, Philly told him no because if he hit his rookie bonuses they were concerned about overage penalties in 24/25 lol...if thats true they're f***ing idiots, you clear the cap out for a blue chip prospect if they want to turn pro, thats a mil to a couple mil down the drain and an extra year until his rfa/ufa years kick in where the real money could come

how hard is it to clear out a few mil in cap so if the player hits their bonuses you don't have an overage the following season...philly was a bad team last year so they were in a rebuild anyway, its not like a prospect forcing the 2013 hawks to ship out roster players to fit them in

So

1) 10 Game NHL free agency and arb clock
2) Signing bonus for 2022
3) Signing bonus for 2023 (July 1)

Yeah you can still make the team next year though kid, just have a good camp! Shit I would be pissed too. That's like 200k in money that you're f***ed due to some salary cap overage answer? I would be pissed too.

Drysdale is not that good defensively, and they have a ton of guys like him in their pipeline. Mintyukovs progression made him expendable and he's always hurt. Drysdale going to Philly isn't going to be good for him, nor the Flyers. Torts will hate his style of play and he'll be healthy scratched by him in no time.

Hope it goes poorly so the Hawks can take a flier on him. I like his game despite the injuries.

shopping zegras after shipping off his buddy drysdale, verbeek trying to clear out potential country club vibes? or were they both murray picks

I hate Trevor zegras. I think my opinion of his is clouding his value, but some of the offers to get him on the trade rumors board are wild overpays. Just not a winning player, IMO

I think Zegras is overhyped, but the raw talent in there. I dont think he’s a first liner, but you shelter him like the Hawks did Kane and he’d be a helluva weapon.

As my old man once straight faced told Lisa Dergan sitting behind the cell's home plate in late 2006, the then fiancé of good old scotty pods, it's for some odd reason whenever these athletes get wifed up they lose their legs.

Zegras and the tiktoker distracting him results in a trade, he might find them again :sarcasm:

In regard to Cutter I don’t see Torts as an issue. Dude will be gone in a year or two. And nhl
Network was stating how players like playing for him. You end up in his doghouse for not doing what you are coached is what they said. Not rhat I want him as a coach just sayin’.
