I think Zegras is overhyped, but the raw talent in there. I dont think he’s a first liner, but you shelter him like the Hawks did Kane and he’d be a helluva weapon.
I think he’s a 60 point player who would be completely cancelled out in a physical playoff series. He’s a far shot from Kane’s ability to influence the game.

He's already burned that bridge, might as well double down. What's the worst thing that could happen, Cutter could dress up as Santa and Philly fans throw batteries at him? What're the odds of that happening a second time?

I mean if the fans of philly and the management team dogged him publicly and didn't tell the full story that they refused to sign him over potential overage bonuses then why can't he troll the fanbase and org back...it's content at this point, remember when people on here were saying that forcing Bedard to go back to junior was a total bridge burning move and not worth it even though it maximizes the tank efforts, well, Cutter is their best immediate prospect outside Michkov, and they burned that bridge over a rookie bonus and they forced him to go back to school where he makes pennies compared to the nhl, risking injury etc etc...idiotic management decision

Man, Dubois is terrible for Kings thus far.

Hell, I was shocked at how his season has been.

37 GP
7 G
9 A
16 pts
-9

He is getting outplayed this year by Jason Dickinson (Chi)

41 GP
14 G
7 A
21 pts
+9

Imagine if someone said at time of trade that Jason Dickinson would have twice the goals and more pts at this point in season. Most would have assumed PLD was injured in first weeks of season for such a prediction

Never been a big PLD fan. His on-ice impact has never been worthy of the hype/thirst certain teams and fanbases seemed to have for him.

I think that’s a harsh read of a 22 year old. Im not projecting him to be Kane, obviously. I just think you deploy that weapon properly and he’s a gamebreaker. Deploy him improperly and he gets swallowed up. Lots of players with long, profitable careers fit that description.

He seems more like a top 6 complimentary piece than someone who can go PPG in a playoff series. He's got some impressive skill no doubt, i'm not sure that translates in the playoffs however.

I was reading on this forum there's a rumor of Zegras being shopped around as well after the Drysdale trade. Could be nothing.

I always say like every college ufa fear is overblown, because almost all of them were a player feeling spurred by the team. Often it is not signing the player when the player wanted.

Now its basically all but confirmed by TNT segment that Gauthier got pissed at Philly for refusing to sign him because of the potential rookie bonuses on their books...during what was supposed to be a rebuild year...
What a shithole organization. Never liked any team or the fans from Philly. This reinforces that.

Danny Briere’s little interview seems incredibly cheesy now after hearing this info. He was so nonchalant about it all as if this all came out of the blue and that the Philly org. was responsibly handling a petty young player.

He can do whatever he wants but the NHL is an old boys club. I promise you his agent is telling him to shut the f*** up. The Flyers are incompetent but this isn't the way you go about it.

Except for that leg injury that was a big concern. I think he was at risk of losing his leg even. Apples to oranges.
The Hawks were also in the middle of contending for cups, and Hayes was picked 24th overall, not 5th. A rebuilding team refusing to sign a guy they picked 5th overall 2 years ago is crazy.

Cory Perry was allowed back into NHL today too. NHL on Sirius says he will be on a team in a week. So whatever happened could not have been that bad. And there is NHLPA, legal stuff there too.
