Cory Perry was allowed back into NHL today too. NHL on Sirius says he will be on a team in a week. So whatever happened could not have been that bad. And there is NHLPA, legal stuff there too.

I mean, just because he's allowed back into the NHL, doesn't mean a team wants him(though he likely does get picked up by one). I know what happened, and it was pretty f***ed up. Hence why he never bothered to file a grievance against the Hawks for the contract termination. And whatever team DOES pick him up, will likely have some extra stuff written into the contract about conduct...

I mean, grabbing the ass of a married female who works for your organization, while hammered at an organizational event, is pretty f***ing bad. Especially after the scandal that just rocked the Hawks not long ago. Why am I not shocked you're downplaying it, though?
Are you just being contrary again, or do you think Perry shouldn't be allowed to return this soon?

I imagine he met with Bettman and they agreed upon some kind of substance abuse and sexual harassment related clauses(like a rehab/substance abuse program) that would be put into any new contract he signs with another team. I'm fine with him getting onto another team, but what he did shouldn't be downplayed as if it was just some little drunken mistake. He embarrassed the Hawks, himself, his family, and a female colleague, and put another stain on an organization trying to rebuild its image in the wake of a sexual assault scandal.

He didn't have to meet with Bettman. It happened because Perry requested it. Sexual harassment and substance abuse clauses are in every contract. Perry can help a number of teams in a depth role and he'll find gainful employment because of it.

Guy f***ed up and got fired with cause. Hopefully it's a one off.

Oh I know. I just mean there was probably extra added into it. He probably wouldn't reinstate him without some kind of agreement on programs he needed to be in and such.

Yeah sure... let's build it up to something bigger than it is. Give it up!

So based upon your responses, you're ok with cat calling women and/or inappropriately(and without permission) touching females, including married/pregnant ones? Being drunk is a good enough excuse for you? Stay classy.

He didn't need to be reinstated. He was just a free agent.
Do we know that for sure, though? Haven't looked for or read any reports of what was required of him before he could sign with other teams.

He was never suspended.

I know he wasn't suspended, but I have to imagine that Bettman wasn't going to allow him to sign a new contract unless he talked to him and they went over some things that Perry needs to address. He could have suspended him if he wanted to. His power is absolute in regard to player conduct both on and off the ice. And when I say talked to him, I don't necessarily mean on an "official" basis, more of a behind the scenes type of thing. IDK. Doesn't really matter, anyways. I don't mind him signing with another team. Never did mind. Just needs to make sure he doesn't do stupid shit again is all. I liked him when he was here, until he did what he did.

His contract likely doesn't get terminated on any other team which is interesting.

The league is essentially saying that what he did was bad and the contract termination was valid, yet he wasn't suspended and is free to sign with other teams. Which is sort of insane.
It’s like getting drunk at workplace event and embarrassing yourself. Grounds for getting fired, but you’re not going to jail and it’s not preventing you from finding another job. It just feels weirder because it’s sports.

It's legal, so I don't see why not? The weed discussion has been open since it went legal here.
Vermont just launched Sportsbetting last night at midnight. I came from Florida too where it wasn't allowed.

I can finally bet on official US apps with good/competitive odds. I used to pray for times like this.

Bowman and Q were both suspended indefinitely.
Don't think they ever announced that, officially.

"Following a meeting with Mr. Quenneville that took place this afternoon in my office, all parties agreed that it was no longer appropriate that he continue to serve as Florida's head coach," Bettman said. "We thank the Panthers' organization for working with us to ensure that a thorough process was followed.

"Given the result, there is no need for any further action by the NHL regarding Mr. Quenneville at this time. However, should he wish to re-enter the League in some capacity in the future, I will require a meeting with him in advance in order to determine the appropriate conditions under which such new employment might take place."

In a drunken stupor he pinched a bum.
Grab my daughter or wifes ass with them not being cool with it, being drunk won't be a good enough excuse for me to not beat your ass.

I've not used a gambling website and I'm just curious. Can one wager on individual NHL games or does it have to be a group of games?
