Yep

And Briere will have interim tag taken off in summer because he is buddy-buddy with that group
 
That's a weird early hire even if really interm. That's like if the Hawks suddenly switched and promoted Brian Campbell to GM. There's not many years of being an executive there

Not that I think it matters all that much, but he has hockey experience that you only get from being a good player at every level. Connections made on the hockey world as well.

Now confirmed that Svech needs surgery and will miss the rest of the regular season and playoffs.

Sucks for Carolina (and playoff hockey in general), but his injury will help the Hawks chances of turning that NYR pick into their 2024 1st. Rags are almost certainly gonna face the Devils and now a Svechnikov-less Canes team, in their first two rounds.

This injury + Canes basically sitting out the TDL while rest of East loaded up probably means they aren't going to do much in playoffs.

Also need to start asking if Rod B is right man for job as coach. He is so damn stubborn on his system that it stifles some of the offensive potential of his players.

The Canes window for a deep run with this roster is slowly closing

I got bored with the tooncast pretty early, but it's not being catered to me as an allegedly sophisticated geriatric millenial.
