I'm sure the jerseys won't be as bad as we think, but it's still a step in the wrong direction and insulting to fans.

The adidas transition and designs were pretty terrible. But idk anything about what fanatics even is. People seem to point to a bunch of bootleg merchandise they make.

Yeah not sure what the f*** the league is thinking with that one. Nike makes all the other major sport league jerseys.

To be fair, Nike’s hockey jerseys have been pretty damn dull on the international level as of late.
No way the authentics will be the knock off garbage Fanatics sells. You'd see tears and rips after a single playoff OT.

It sucks though, you don't want companies peddling garbage to get bigger.
oh yeah, I’m sure that the actual stuff that players wear will be fine. Fan gear, though? Very hard pass for the likely quality versus price.

Sounds like they’re doing this to protect their players from persecution. Also this whole “the rest of the world needs to be as woke as us” stance is really annoying. Its called ethnocentrism and its when you hold every other place to your standard and I was taught that that is not right. We should be trying to understand why these things are happening not grabbing the pitchfork and torch every time it does.

Why do you think lgbtqa+ people and supporters want these events to show support for them?
you agree thats a false equivalency?

If a russian players families are in danger over a rainbow jersey in warmups to play hockey so they decide to not wear them it does not mean that they believe gay people dont deserve human rights.

false equivalency.

No rainbow jersey in warmups = LGBTQ dont deserve human rights

Please, that's nonsense. It's a gesture of goodwill, and is something thay every team does for a dozen different issues, like latino heritage nights, first responder nights, military appreciation nights, and autism awareness nights. Players wear those without a peep.

But pride jerseys are too much for some to bear? They're telling a lot about themselves having a specific issue with that, and it's not anything good. Any player that refused to wear any of those other jerseys would be pilloried for doing so, but players that refuse to wear pride jerseys have a load of defenders popping out of the woodwork. Hmm...

And again, it's a cover. Nobody brought up a supposed danger with other teams with Russian players.

I believe they should have a choice to wear the jerseys. The response to that choice from everyone else is up to them. Requiring it goes against the issue itself.

When NHL players didnt kneel for the national anthem was that a sign that they believed black lives didnt matter? Of course not. Everything is not black and white. People have different reasonings.

So like the Sharks did, but the Hawks aren't doing that even though Murphy says he wanted to wear them.

And you still seem to be under the scope here the Russian players choose this, have you not read things said today. Richardson said he doesn't believe the team even talked to them, the organization made this call themselves. It's not some player choice issue even.

Eric Staal says he has never worn the jersey before, gets told there is photographic proof of him wearing it in MTL, and he still denys it.

Also I would be fine if players sat out. They are free to do that if they please (legally maybe not, with their contract) but in my eyes atleast. Then we can see who are the homophobes that play in the league. & they can get grilled by the media. Now its just a team backed cop out, which is way worse in my opinion.

Been following NYR since the Kane trade. Anyone else?

I'd love for them to make a deep run, but I'm not sure they will. Their back end is brutal...they have no answer for a speedy or disciplined forecheck (Canes/Devils). Of course I focus on Kane and i don't think he's been a great fit so far mainly because of this. They can't get him the puck. Playoffs are always a different beast and the Canes/Devils also have question marks so it should be interesting.

From the West, I can see another McD vs Mac WCF match-up. Playoffs can't start soon enough.

Apparently Nike’s MLB game uniforms are actually made by Fanatics. Nike gets the contract and pays Fanatics to make them.

NHL is eliminating the middle man. I’m still not convinced it will be a quality product.
