As the gay of the board (or one of them? Idk if anyone else here is), I could not find the energy to be outraged over Provorov because it's so incredibly unsurprising. "Oh, a conservative hockey player with outdated beliefs? COLOUR ME SHOCKED!" It definitely sends a message, and it's a shitty one. And I'm glad I'm not a Flyers fan, because I would know that one of my players doesn't support me enough that he chose not to wear a stupid warm up jersey that had rainbow numbers which he could have just explained as being mandatory if people questioned him about it.

What upsets me MORE than what Provorov did are the comments about it. "He should be able to have his beliefs!" and "Keep it out of the sport!" blah blah blah blah blah. Because Provorov is just one guy. But there are thousands of people out there talking about it who are showing their whole selves as being bigoted and thinking they aren't by saying "I dont care if you're gay or not. BUT . . ."
And he IS allowed to have his "beliefs", but the people spouting this shit are so f***ing hypocritical that there is no sort of logic that will ever get them to see that their head is so far up their own ass. These are the same people that were exploding with rage over players kneeling for an anthem. Where's the dialogue of freedom of expression there?!

It sends the message of "I don't care what you do, but you can't be yourself in public because I'm uncomfortable with it and not secure enough in my own heterosexuality to be able to see you as just another person".

Sigh. I'm so tired.

Even worse I read his jersey is selling out now.

That just goes to show how fortunate DeBrincat has been in his career. Or it shows Caulfield needs to get stronger the way DeBrincat has gotten.

Also wouldn't be surprised to see Dach go even more dry in points now.

Would just put Dach with Suzuki and rotate wingers until something maybe clicks

He's played with Suzuki the entire time. Caulfield was the sniper on that line with them both. This is gonna force Dach to shoot the puck more instead of dish and honestly would be better for him. I just don't see it in him to do that personally.

Your last paragraph is spot on. Also funny how all those dopes suddenly become first amendment experts pertaining to issues that have nothing to do with the first amendment.

Apparently, Calgary can't challenge that (non) goal that was clearly kicked in? Perhaps the officials upstairs determined that the puck hit a Flames player's stick on the way in.

Best part according to a Canucks fan on the main board is Colliton being groomed in Abbotsford to take on the reigns in ~2 years after tocchet.
Obligatory throwback:

That entire coaching staff was pretty bad. Does anyone remember one of the assistants in a frenzy at the bench to chalk up a play with Hawks down by 2 goals with 15 seconds or so left in the 3rd period? And the faceoff wasn't even in the ops zone.

Should have promoted Granato.
