Smith took some contact very liberally a few times already, you can tell the refs know his MO, so they were anxious to send him off for contact protocol which is a good rule IMO. While it sucks if you're okay after big contact it's a good reminder to key players who want to flop at critical times which itself has become a popular thing to do.
 
Officiating incompetence is hitting an all time low in Tampa tonight. It has taken over 10 minutes to make a decision of whether the puck hit the netting or not. They obviously don't know and have no conclusive evidence but made the call anyway. NO GOAL!

It's very conclusive, I don't get how you think it's like they dictate the camera crews. Its them that are taking forever to gather the right angle.

No but they showed the angle from over one of the official's (#94) shoulder. He had to have seen the obvious hand pass from the dot but somehow didn't see it .... or didn't call it.
If you start calling hand pass penalties in elimination games you better be 1000% sure. They called it just fine.
