That's pretty idiotic reason to not select a prospect
The thing about drafting Russians is, even in normal times you never know if or when they'll come over, and if or when they'll decide to go home.

Add in current world events, it makes it even more of a crapshoot.

If a team has two or more prospects on their board that are close, and one of them is Russian, it's only good sense to go the other way, imo.

You're talking about a prospect that people are calling generational

Can't imagine they'll be too many other players on the board that are close

It's still over a year until his draft, plenty can change, for better or worse. If he's clearly better than the next guy on a teams board when it's time to pick, then yeah, I guess you take him. But I maintain drafting Russians is risky business, now more than ever.
