I never did though, just because I didn't see him being good enough on his own to be a #1 but he doesn't need that to thrive in Colorado

I dont think significantly so, especially if he followed the same trajectory. Of nhl mostly right away and still breaking the wrist

It's getting more and more frustrating watching Byram play because I wanted him drafted here instead of Turcotte/Dach/Cozens/whichever Center prospect Bowman and Kelley wanted. He's looking real comfortable out there playing in the WCF and shutting down the best player in the world and Draisaitl.

Dach better turn it up or at least turn himself into a Jordan Staal-esque center or that draft pick is going to be a huge waste of a lottery win.

Some of the thinking out there is that the Blackhawks picked Dach cause he was the most NHL-ready and could jump into the lineup soonest. This would line up well with their documented 'we're still good' delusion at the time.

To me that would depend on 2 factors: 1/ Is the coaching better in Colorado? ...and 2/ Is Dach a coachable player?

I would say the answer is yes to both .... so yes, Dach would be a better player today if he was playing for Avs. The only question is by how much.

Now that said, they are still within a goal and knowing the NHL in the post season, next game will probably be completely different.

Lightning still can win the series but it did feel very strange to me when people where acting like the Rangers had no chance in winning, they have been playing some solid hockey overall in these playoffs.

I'd bet on TB accomplishing this before the Oilers, but this is looking like a COL vs NYR final.

Another factor: The Avs likely wouldn't have hurried Dach to the NHL. He likely would have had time to develop his game in the A.

They were content going into the playoffs with awful goaltending. Sometimes you make your own luck.
