This is why I can't play this game

End of the year McD ends with like 70-80 points it's so unrealistic.
Before the season starts edit up star players (ex.top 3 in every team + 1-2 defenceman)to max for example in shooting and a few other categories and in 82 games McDavid had 120p and nr 10 in top 10 had 103p.i cant play a season without doing this and has been doing it last 5 years.only way to get realistic top 10 scoring.

top 10 for defenceman was 82 p for nr 1 and around 50p for nr 10,Defenceman scores way to little without doing this.

When you do this scoring is about 60 goals for matthews last season i played and around 40 for nr 10 in that list.

I've said this before and I'll say it again: make it possible for a player to be more than one archetype. This "Sniper" or "Playmaker" label makes the game too one dimensional. Make Ovechkin a Sniping Power Forward, Kucherov a Sniping Playmaker, etc, etc. Make it easier to understand what a player brings to the table and how it can affect your team.

Contract demands need to be toggled as well.

There have been some years we’re both timo Meier and Jesper Bratt were asking for 12 million a year

My biggest problem with the offline modes is that the AI isn't fun to play against. They need to find a sweet spot where it's challenging to win games on All Star/Superstar difficulty while still being realistic.

You're either cheesing the AI or the AI is ridiculous to play against. There's not a lot of in between. It would be really freaking awesome if they could allow us to edit/create players on a website and upload that data to the game somehow. As it is now the process is slow and clunky.

As it stands now HUT and EASHL are what i play. The competition is more fresh and the team building aspect of HUT is fun in its own way. There's PLENTY wrong with both online modes but i love hockey and love playing hockey games so i'm hooked.

I play on all star difficulity, and play position lock. I found this to make the most realistic game play, with some tweaks on the game settings sliders too.

There's no reason to do all that work. When you start Franchise Mode just select "HIGH" for Sim Engine Scoring and Shot Frequency. You'll get more realistic results for top end players.

I just did a quick season sim with the latest roster update and here are some results:

MacKinnon 125 points vs 111 real life points
Kucherov 113 points vs 113 real life points
J. Robertson 106 points vs 109 real life points
M. Rantenen 105 points vs 105 real life points
Pastrnak 102 points vs 113 real life points
E. Pettersson 96 points vs 102 real life points

Yes you are right but if you play a whole season on high sim engine the goalie stats are not realistic so i edit up star players (only fun) then mix between medium maybe 65% and high 35% full season then you get pretty realistic stats overall inkl the goalies.

Where's McD?

Probably at 80 points

Give us full control over the Leauge in franchise mode, ability to change name, height, weight etc on prospects. Frank Ovechkin from Denmark going first overall doesn't really do it for me..
Ability to edit players overall ratings during franchise mode, controll every team with trades and to play games with each and everyone.
They said in 23 you would have total controll over franchise mode, give us that then .
More ability's to edit players equipment, retro gear etc and goalie mask editor .
Give me these things and i would be werry satisfied
You're not a fan of Frank Ovechkin? What about Steve Lundqvist? Igor Smith? Tiny Walser?

NGL. The name failures are at such an epic level, I'd be disappointed if they tried to change it. Give me Evegeny Gretzky at 204th overall or Ville Smith at 97th.

I was scrolling through the goalie stats and I didn't really notice anything too egregious. Save percentages are slightly lower and GAAs slightly higher, but they are by no means 80s level numbers.

But who am I to tell you how to play the game as long as you enjoy it!

Jimmy Datsyuk the black Korean will always be the goat

You know what's desperately needed? Player tendencies. 2K is brilliant for introducing this and it makes players' playstyles extremely authentic. There should be tendencies for things such as the likelihood of attacking the neutral zone, the likelihood to set up passes rather than taking shots (as well as key areas where players like to set up, such as Ovi's office for the one-timer). The likelihood to try and dangle around defenders rather than dumping the puck, tendencies towards going to the slot as opposed to skating around the boards.

For example, maybe a player will be more likely to attack the middle if they notice they're up against a bottom 6 dman who is worse at poke checking and positioning than a top 2 dman. Players should be able to size up their opponents and change their strategies based on what they can and can't get away with.

There need to be way more statistics as well (backhand shots, lateral pivots, anticipation, vision, lower body strength, etc). If you implement all these factors, player chemistry can be built around players' skill sets rather than the same old ineffective plays the AI tries to force. For example, when Ovi and Backstrom play together, there's a focus on working the puck in the offensive zone until Ovi is free for a one-timer. A lot of players have skill sets and strategies meant to complement one another. But this never happens bc ai players skate backwards and receive passes on their backhands bc there's no offensive strategy or positioning.

Players need to have individual stats geared towards individual intelligence and the ability to predict plays.

McDavid in real-life games can find key scoring areas because he knows how things will play out 2-3 steps ahead. Because of that, he will position himself in certain areas, pivot to buy enough time for other players to get open, and pass the puck back and forth with the point man until he finds a good feed for a one-timer or a rebound goal in front of the net. Crosby grinds in the lower areas and is extremely tenacious and able to bounce off checks and draw defenders towards him so he can set up other teammates. Meanwhile, AI players just run around like chickens with their heads cut off. There's no patience, no actual coaching strategies towards neutral zone breakouts, and offensive zone cycling tendencies. Players just rush toward the center and don't care if they get bulldozed by a dman for the 7th time that game.

There are so many intricate parts of the game that aren't emphasized bc EA pays such little attention to detail.

Bring line changes to EASHL! Make it to where you have to have 4 load outs with an overall cap based on the line. 1st line no cap 4th line caps out at 80. Would add to the depth of eashl and allow for matchups and what not. Have a line that’s just getting demolished on the forecheck no worries send out a heavy line. Just off the PK send out a fresh top line instead of all skaters being dead after the kill. The potential to really open up strategies and what not would be endless imo

My favorites was drafting Maurice Richard of Latvia and the 6’7 Danish defenseman, Howard Howard.
