I remember back in the day EA used to fly in some people to visit their studios and preview/test the game.

I assume they don’t do that anymore?
Nah instead they pay YouTuber simps like tactix and Nasher to play their broken game make sure they dont criticize it and have them say how great it is to get people to buy it

Can't believe they still have so many of these idiots doing pack opening videos for every ultimate team game out there great way to get people to waste money and is somehow legal in a game where you already pay 70$ to get.

All you need is a few thousand people willing to shell out hundreds of dollars a year to buy shitty packs. I’m guilty of it myself. Plenty of times where I’ve told myself “well I’m not out at the bar tonight spending $100+, what’s $40 for some packs”.

The game and AI sucks, EA rigs its online matches to promote artificial parity, I still don’t care. I love hockey and I love playing the games despite the yearly slap in the face EA is pathetic enough to keep giving us.

Stop the scamming. One year I spent around $100 on packs. Won the pack lottery and landed a Forsberg HUT Icon that I sold for a gold mine. Other years paying no money I never hit a decent card. I always wondered what some are actually paying with the line-ups I've seen. These kats are either elite and winning all the online competitions or dropping hundreds at a minimum.

One guy I used to watch online never said how much he spent but he was honest and said in a video "you will never get a team like mine" and said making videos on YT was his job so he spent more your average gamer ever should.

HUT packs should be considered gambling under the laws imo. At the very least, they're a gateway into gambling for young people. There should be an age limit on HUT packs if EA really wants to make most of their profits in this way. The fact that they can construe this as anything other than gambling is so dumb.

It really is the most hawkish form of capitalism imaginable. There shouldn't be HUT packs. If they want a pay to win system, fine, but HUT packs are predatory.

How about fixing Be a Pro? I'd like the ability to once again play start at 16, get drafted, play a full junior career, work in the AHL and then reach the NHL. Get rid of James Cybulski, everything he says in this game is the worst and makes me want to hunt him down and chuck a bomb through his f***ing window, they allegedly have a deal with DaveArt for the past 4 years but have done jack shit with it, so uhh how about updating the goalies masks for the 1st time in 10 years?

The fact that gameplay online since nhl15 onward is really just about abusing the horrible mechanics vs playing a team style game and rewarding those with actual hockey sense and creativity is just sad.

Remember the days when you had a nice passing play to open up a scoring chance? No? Me neither... its been a long time.

Why on earth would you pay for packs?

Since they entered the PS4 era the game has been copy and paste with little updates to the shit engine.

The engine and UI need to be rebuilt from the ground up but they'll never do that, 24 will be copy and paste again with the same shitty slow UI and gameplay that doesn't feel realistic at all.

I used to have hope, but after getting burned for a decade EA and rammer can screw themselves, never buying it again.

Their sales are down and it's for a good reason.
Game went downhill when they decided Rammer was the one to run the show over there.

Give us full control over the Leauge in franchise mode, ability to change name, height, weight etc on prospects. Frank Ovechkin from Denmark going first overall doesn't really do it for me..
Ability to edit players overall ratings during franchise mode, controll every team with trades and to play games with each and everyone.
They said in 23 you would have total controll over franchise mode, give us that then .
More ability's to edit players equipment, retro gear etc and goalie mask editor .
Give me these things and i would be werry satisfied
Like it. Also would like to find scouts with b plus rating or above the first two seasons

How about in franchise mode when you take over playing a simulated game that they allow you to line change on the fly. The only tactic to get a line change is to intentionally go offside. Frustrating.

The game play itself has gotten stale. The AI and some of the physics need an update. You can’t move your feet and stick handle at the same time. When the skill stick first came out I understood that limitation, but in 2024 that’s pretty inexcusable. In general neutral zone play and dump in/cycle games are not present, and again, I understand that it’s tough to implement accurately but it can certainly be improved.

Also, can we improve the attributes? Is checking how good they are at checking or how often they hit? Is aggressiveness how often they hit or how overall aggressive they are on the ice - you can have a really high motor and be tenacious on the forecheck and backcheck without being very physical. If aggressiveness influences how aggressively you’re pressuring on offense and defense than what is offensive and defensive awareness? Isn’t poise kind of awareness? How do all of these attributes interact? Can we have a backhand attribute? How about an attribute for release quickness? Some guys have a great, wicked wrist shot but they don’t score with it a lot because they don’t have a great release. Some guys have an insane release on a medium power shot and nice accuracy. Can we work that into the game? How about an overall effort slider? You have guys like Semin who are super talented but not the hardest working and you have guys like Crosby who are both super talented and hard working and you have guys like Fast who aren’t that talented but very hard working. Instead of offensive awareness, etc. how about “anticipation”? And - or, at a minimum - just publish an in depth article not only explaining what each attribute does but how they interact with each other. How much does strength impact shot power or checking? Does it influence balance? If you have high balance and low strength what happens? What about low strength but 99 shot power? 99 checking? What does strength do? Don’t just tell us it effects the other traits - tell us how and to what degree.

Give the AI and human controlled players a lot more situational animations. If you’re going around the net, make them pull the puck in tighter automatically. Make them jump at the blueline to hold in pucks or reach with their skate. Make a little cushion on the blueline when you are controlling the point man so that he’s aware of going offside accidentally. Let the D make hand passes when knocked down in their own end. Have pucks occasionally blown dead for a high stick, not only on goals.

Skating stances was a good idea but don’t leave everyone set at the defaults. Randomize it or put effort into giving players unique body positions (like they do with goalie stance) so that not everyone looks the same. Don’t give everyone the same default lame goal celebration. I don’t want to go and edit every player in the league to have various animations. Also, please more realistic celebrations and less dumb f***ing shit like spinning on their head or doing push-ups. Or keep that crap for the online crowd but just give the NHL realistic celebrations. We have Ovie dropping the too hot stick that he did once but no one jumps into the glass?

Please improve BAP if it’s going to stay. The interviews and teammate interactions are so repetitive and the answers are so lame. Anyone who is a half talented writer and genuine hockey fan could script BAP better. Hell, I will do it for free as a passion project. Don’t lock answers behind silly categories like charisma that you have to pour attribute points into - just allow your character to have a personality. Allow us to go through the draft route but with custom rosters. No one wants to play BAP in January with the default roster from opening night. There’s been changes. Let us use the current up-to-date roster if we want. It’s our game - right now if you choose to go the draft route instead of choosing your team, you start with default rosters (I get the logic, those were the rosters at the draft, but no one cares - we want to play with accurate rosters).

Oh, and let us edit player heights, weights and hair. If I can make Sidney Crosby a 60 overall and give him a giant beard, why can’t I give Karlsson long or short hair, since he changes it year to year. Why can’t I make Jack Hughes a little heavier if the game still has him at his draft weight? He’s also a good example of a character model that would be much improved if I could simply go in myself and change his hairstyle to something long.

There’s tons more to fix about actual AI and mechanics, but those things I listed are implementable and I believe they’d significantly improve the experience.

The biggest issue with the game is the HUT packs dweebs that plug 100s of dollars in to their stupid little card collecting mini game. Streamers are a huge issue with this.

Sales are down but it doesn't matter because little Timmy spent $1346 on packs and the game is making great money.

I haven't purchased an NHL game the last 2 years. The BAP is so bad you'll hate hockey after 1 season.

Yep, Be A Pro is horrible. Your AI teammates may as well be on drugs, and the unrealistic backskating where nothing is on the forehand in the offensive zone. Terrible.
