I've played a fair amount of games in my goalie BaP and my biggest gripe is definitely the CPU AI. Unless the coaching sliders are very tilted, the game is so damn frustrating to play. Online 1v1 play is also very unenjoyable for me (always has been tbf tho). Franchise mode is unbelievably frustrating because of how unrealistically the player sim is so I really don't have any game mode I'm excited to play. I probably won't play this game very much unless I'm just extremely bored and desperate. It sucks but it is what it is.

The game f***ing sucks, as somebody who played high level 6s the on ice gameplay is much worse then 23s, the pressure system is horrible and slows the game down to a halt. even with max speed and 90+ endurance it's like your playing an alumni game as one of the 60 year old men. you lose energy way to quickly and when you have low energy you can't f***ing do anything, even with high energy they completely f***ed up the stick handling, it takes way to long to go from backhand to forehand even with high deking stats it doesn't make a difference. Goalies in 6s can just sit in the middle and they will save 75% of shots even ones on the short side they aren't covering but also sometimes they will be covering the shortside and you will just shoot it right through them. Hip checks are broken you get slightly touched by them and immediately crumble but they are the only effective way to knock players off the puck, poke checks are unreliable, stick lifts are an auto penalty and the new hitting often just doesn't work. For some reason the morons at EA decided that every time someone scores a goal you have to watch a 15 second unskippable cutscene of a guy celebrating, the game just loves wasting your time. The main reason to buy new NHL games for the past couple of years was to play EASHL 6s but now it is just not fun to play. The singleplayer modes went un-updated from last year's game, and are still horrible messes, the be a pro still has your coach annoying you 4 times a game slowing the gameplay to a halt. The franchise mode is still laughably horrible when compared to nba 2k's franchise mode. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME, instead go on ebay and get yourself a copy of NHL Legacy. It will probably cost less money and you'll get a better game.
Yooo Drad, Chuck-_-Morrisse here lol. Ya, it's a mess man. You still playing LG?

It would be great if hipchecks worked exactly like they did last season. The fact that they auto target opponents like Truculence is ridiculous and only serves to benefit players with absolutely no skill.

I used the hipcheck animation last year to my benefit defensively because it allows your character to strafe laterally, which allows you to gain inside body position on puck carriers unexpectedly. Not this year.
What's more, it seems easier to pull off as a smaller player. Moreso against bigger players because they're slower, less agile, and larger targets.

Ass backwards, to me.

I play the game, make rosters for the game, but find the offline game incredibly frustrating. But I persist. I find it funny that online gamers are the ones that seem to hate the game the most this year, because that seemed to be EAs focus audience lately. Now they’re hating on all of us equally.

So I bought the game full-price and have mostly been playing HUT so far. I think it's a "fun" game but it's such a shitty game, if that makes sense. Do you know that meme about the people leaving bad reviews on games they've spent hundreds of hours on? This is how I feel about that game. It's a fun game because playing NHL games is fun, but it's such a dogshit game.

I'd get it if it was on sale for 50% off, but you just have to go in realizing it's a shit game.

It's unacceptable that they don't have updated AHL rosters yet.
I know it usually takes until early Nov but it's almost American Thanksgiving and we don't have them yet.

The one guy working in the EA office is very busy with making sure the micro transactions are working properly. They dont have time for things like that.

I keep coming back to the game almost once a week because I have an itch to play an nhl game and it’s just not fun.

I bet if I found good sliders the gameplay would be passable but it’s just too time consuming. Plus a lot of the things I don’t like are core gameplay features that can’t be fixed with sliders.

Will probably just re-install 23 at some point.

Can’t comment on 6s as I used to play at an esports level but after having a kid and just losing interest in the mental grind it took to keep up with the younger crowd it just wasn’t worth it. Also didn’t help that you hit a certain level of play in 6s and it just becomes an RNG fest. Easy way to kill the fleeting motivation I had to play.

Uploaded my franchise mode roster for Xbox X/S today. It has ratings and potential changes for every league, improved juniors rankings, 300+ created players, a few movie characters, and a dozen or so upcoming NCAA free agents. I updated all contract extensions, added the top ten prospects for every team, and a dozen or so guys for the next four drafts.

I don’t do any equipment editing or facial editing.

If anyone wants to make some changes or change anything else, feel free, and feel free to give me a shout out if you upload it.

It’s called Franchise Mode roster, and my gamer tag is VladDimitri
Uploaded version 2 today, probably the last one for me unless I find more issues play testing. Added a bunch more guys, and fixed some ratings and potential to try to make the game better balanced going forward into franchise mode. The game has its issues for sure, but I’m determined to make a better roster than them and make it as fun as possible.

Struggling to find a happy medium in year two of my franchise with the CPU on superstar.

Not doing any cheesey goals but can score 7-8 goals easily, when year 1 was lucky to score 4.
Same roster, mostly developed players(Panthers).
20 games in, and have a few players at a GPG+ pace without ENG stat padding

When I tweak the CPU difficulty it'll quickly become heavily favored towards the CPU and the game goes quickly to frustrating as it feels like the slider just heavily nerfs your CPU players and overpowers the opposing CPU.

Damn this thread is depressing! The hell happened to this series??

Played the 10 hour trial, have no reason to touch this game this year. It's utter garbage, that's what happens when sports games are based on micro transactions instead of having fun on it anymore.

I use AlTito's sliders in franchise mode and it is more fun than 23, actually the most fun I had in a few years. I have a lot of variety in goals this year.

Online... yeah let's forget about that, same shit show as always. Gameplay is atleast 1 click too fast, hip checks are still broken and frustrating, hitting overpowered at times and there are still games where your passes won't connect and you lose every 50-50 battle, while the next game it's the other way around and you actually feel bad for the opponent. Also goalies teleporting from left to right to save cross crease passes. I get it that they wanted to reduce cross crease goals but that's just not the way to do it because it also robs you on perfectly played 2-0s which should not be happening. I could also swear that at launch, pass interceptions were waaaay higher. Just a feeling. And wouldn't be the first time they f*** up the gameplay tuners (which don't have a changelog, ofcourse)...

Why did they add the defense being left flat footed on every rush?

got Hughes on my HUT team boy skates like a 5 year old house leaguer on EVERY rush coming back to defend.
