Everyone wanted new commentary, and when the community gets it, complaints everywhere. This game is going to be great, and the commentary is a nice change. Also it feels as if NHL is getting a fresh start on the next gen. Its a great building block for next years game.

In other words, stop *****ing, its a video game.

How many of you actually keep your commentaries on before you mute it?

I had mine muted after a week in NHL 14. Will probably be the same in NHL 15 regardless of new commentators or not.

I leave mine on so that I can have the one-liners stuck in my head 15 years later. "Northbound on a southbound freeway, look out!" "Freight train, CHOO WOO!"

I leave it on. If everyone muted it, why would there then be outcry for new commentary?

Every year it's the same thing before it comes out.. everyone griping about how it's not going to be good.

**** you.. this game is going to be the bees knees.. my only concern right now is i hope they have lots of stat packages and stuff during the game - show player stats and such - and tell me when my player is on a 12 game scoring drought or he just scored his 20th.

and does anyone know if there are custom soundtracks? in this or madden?

"Finish! Finish! Finish! ....and i'm not talking about the country."

I wonder if we hear stuff like "....passes to Seth Jones, no relation to Ryan, Randy, David, Blair, or Martin..." That would be realistic

If you have that early access or EAs special thing whatever its called now...do you get demo access early?

I know they said some games you get 5 days trial like Dragon Age and stuff. I wish the demo was the 19th. Can't wait to try it out.

I can't wait for 5 day early access either. Better than the 3 they used to offer.

In regards to the commentary, why didn't they just use commentary from the real life calls of Eddie and Mike? It would have come off more natural and it would have saved them significant time in the process. They would still have to bring them in to studio to record a few things, but it would have been a more efficient and natural way of doing things.

This is a problem with fans of the series and why no one has had to think about changing things at EA. You just admitted this is a building block which implies it likely won't be that great but because it might be better next year we should be happy? That's what they want you to believe to get you to buy it next year and so on. On the pre-gen versions there are so far only three changes listed that I've seen. New commentary, True Hockey Experience and the NHL collision physics. I don't care how great you think it is but those three "changes" (One isn't a change, it is just a selling phrase) are not worth the £40 and pre-gen are being ripped off unless there are details regarding to game modes which they are hiding.

Who cares about some dumb commentary when there are MUCH bigger issues that need to be addressed (like gameplay and extremely slow simming)?

That's simply not true, but there's no sense in arguing with you because you have no idea what you're talking about. You can't do anything about glitch goals in EASHL? You serious? You mean, other than have the player(you know, the player that's actually controlled by a human, and not EA's logic) stop it, right? Versus is fun to bad players because it's easy to exploit the AI and score. People that actually want to play something that looks like hockey will actually get a competent club together and play EASHL.

You know you can switch players in vs mode right? Heck, people regularly control goalie to stop the glitch shots/breakaway moves that work 99% of time.

EASHL, unless you're playing 5/6 vs 5/6, is infested with glitch goals. That's why they're always so high scoring.

I agree with this, I also neglected to mention in the previous post that if people have or want to pay money for a game they have a right to complain if they're not satisfied.

Why would you play anything else? That's what I've been talking about the entire time: getting rid of the AI. Versus is exceptionally easy to score. Exceptionally easy. There's one guy playing defense, 4 guys doing nothing because they're AI. EASHL is so easy to counter glitchers if you have a competent team(again, exactly what I've been talking about from the beginning). No such thing as a competent team in versus because you're at the mercy of the AI actually being in position(which they never are). Obviously I know you can switch players in versus, that doesn't change the fact that 5 out of 6 guys will always be controlled by the AI, making scoring mindless. It's the same game every single time. The AI can't adjust.

It would be awesome if EA took full advantage of the NBC deal and had Pierre interviewing you for Live the Life mode during pre/post-game interviews, including him being creepy and standing a bit too close to you for comfort

Not everyone is in a club that plays 5/6 vs 5/6 regularly. It's far more common for eashl games to have less than that and if you played 4 vs 4 or less you'd see which mode involves taking advantage of AI D and goalies. In versus you can immediately swap players to where the puck goes.

IMO a good versus player would be easily a good EASHL player because they can play all positions. On the other hand, I have found several good eashl players struggle in versus mode.

A lot of vs players have no idea how to play positional hockey, because they don't have to in vs.

There also aren't very many good vs players at all, the talent pool is definitely stronger in EASHL
