Oh, I didn't realize we were picking half legends and half current. That changes things for me dramatically. I'm not likely to go back too far because I watched too many great players as it is. Also, some favorites who maybe weren't the best.

Like I said, the goal here is to assemble a highlight factory. The best QB ever is RANCH, but no one does more impossible things than QB Patrick Mahomes.

@CanadianFlyer88 HC called us cowards. Are you going to take that?

This cowardly franchise will continue its quest to assemble a worthy team of legends with the introduction of the second best offensive player off all time FB/RB Jim Brown.

He only played 9 seasons, but was a 9 time All-Pro, 3 time MVP, and the greatest running back ever in a landslide at the time of his retirement.

His post-football career took him into acting, where he made an appearance with Seattle Sockeyes' team car, K.I.T.T., alongside David Hasselhoff. Our Quackverse football team will also try to expand our presence on Germany, for some reason, and, man, do Germans love David Hasselhoff.

He continued to be a coward but you also cowered to my call out so... you might be worse.

I was going to take someone else, but then I realized no one had taken Mahomes yet. I know someone is going to snipe me. This one will hurt. I don’t even know what to do if I lose him tbh.

My next awesome pick is a player who was, but probably isn't anymore, the GOAT at his position, though era-adjusted he's definitely not far off.

You know what isn't in question at all - AT ALL? He was the GOAT player in the GOAT game.

  • caught 13 passes for 166 yards
  • caught a 25-yard touchdown pass
  • played with a pinched nerve in his left shoulder and a strained rotator cuff in his right shoulder
  • had cramps in his back and legs
  • his lip was cut, his eye was swollen, and he lost 13 pounds
  • blocked the potential game-winning 43-yard kick at the end of regulation to send it to OT

"I was downfield, blocking for one of our receivers. A Miami cornerback was next to me. I can see him to this day, but I can't remember who it was. Anyway, the play was over and he and I were standing beside each other. Actually, we were leaning against each other, holding each other up. I looked at him. He looked at me. 'You go this way, I'll go that way,' I said. And, finally, we slid off each other."

They went on to lose the next week against the Bengals in the coldest game to that point in NFL history - literally one of the worst days of my life.

They don't make them like this anymore - his own son is proof of that.

OK here I be. I believe the 2nd round is the best time to find a punter, as nobody is taking them at this point so the pickings are ripe. I select

Jim_Thorpe_Canton_Bulldogs_1915-20.jpg

Jim Thorpe (RB/K/P/League President/Pentathlon/Decathlon/Outfield)

Since we mentioned GOAT athletes, here's one. He played pro football, baseball, and basketball and pondered playing pro hockey. The first time he tried football he wandered into Pop Warner's practice and promptly abused his entire defense to run for touchdowns twice. Most couldn't even lay a hand on him; those who did got bowled over.

He has two Olympic gold medals in Track and Field. He never practiced, so who knows what his actual peak might have been in any of his sports had he just devoted himself to one trade and worked at it. Also if he wasn't alcoholic; that would have helped. He dominated football with raw speed, strength, and skill. He excelled at every sport he touched, naturally.

I would make him a RB, but his peak came before he helped found the NFL and the game was radically different. He was a force, but most of his domination was via his kicking game, which was how things worked then. He once had a 95-yard punt. Also his attitudes toward practice make me wary of trying to pair him with guys running complex offenses, so punter it is.

This pick just isn’t fair.
To make it fair(er), you don’t get any of Jim Thorpe, PA.

Either grab a team or gtfo

side note I just dropped my phone and the screen is cracked to shit. I’m hoping it’s the protector and not the screen but it’s way to late to either be annoyed or pissed off depending on the outcome. I’ll check this shot later tomorrow when I can actually do something about it. If I’m gone for a day or so, someone with knowledge pick present players for me since I don’t know Jack shit about them.
