Watching the Young Stars tournament one intermission feature showed the Oilers group at the NHL Draft. Embedded within the heart of its scouting team was their Senior Director, Data & Analytics, Michael Parkatti.

This is the maturation of information based decision making in pro sports and Park gives an amazing testament to the humility (vs. arrogance) and team centred approach to work within these sport cultures. Worth a listen imo!

Typical Harbaugh coached team. Get up by a bunch, and just play it safe the rest of the way. What a choke job by the Niners. Wow.

I can’t wrap my head around the stupidity of today’s coaches. Dallas is trailing Baltimore by 22 points, that’s 3 scores. They score a touchdown to cut it to 16, if they kick a 1 point convert they trail by 15. They went for 2 and failed so now they need 2 touchdowns with 2 point converts to tie. They scored another touchdown and failed the 2 point conversion again. Now instead of being down 8 and within 1 score of tying the game they’re down 10 and need 2 scores to win. They just added the need for one more scoring drive unnecessarily by going for 2 at a time when it couldn’t win or tie the game for them yet anyway. This isn’t just a McCarthy thing either. I’ve been watching the thinking for this change in the CFL for years too and mocking its failures.

Cowboys "scary defence" got destroyed once again today, and again, at home. Allowed over 270 rushing yards, as the Ravens gashed them time and again, and the secondary got eaten alive. Final score flattered them as the Ravens clearly took their foot off the gas and it nearly cost them. Have no idea how fat ass continues to keep his job.

It's tough being a 'Boys fan in these times.
