It would be a great thing if Pitkanen was able to attempt a comeback with us next season at a highly reduced rate obviously. I can't recall if you can build in incentives in NHL deals, but that would be awesome. To be honest, it's been fairly easy to forget about a player that hasn't played in as long as he has.

If he could make a 100% healthy comeback, I'd be all or signing him to a one year deal at a reasonable rate, like $3m or less. Having him in the top 4 is a LOT better than having to rely on Harrison, Komisarek, Murphy, etc.

Did Boychuk hit on one of Muller's daughters or something?

ONLY thing I can come up with is that Terry is a UFA and Boychuk is an RFA. They really want a good look at Terry to see if it's worth bringing him back. Otherwise, yes he hit on one of Muller's daughters.

That makes some sense. As someone that's never really been high on Boychuk, after his week up in January, I thought he earned more time.

Also, once Boychuk is up, he now has to go through waivers (again) to get him back down.

So, his spotlight dance may occur closer to season's end. In fact, maybe they are waiting to see if Charlotte can make the playoffs or not before taking him away for the remainder of the season.

Yeah, I was thinking of the waivers thing also, but thought that at this point, why not just keep him up? Didn't think of the Charlotte angle though so that's a good point.

I was reading the main board (I know, why?) and there was a Norris Trophy discussion about Karlsson, Keith, etc. And I got to thinking, Sekera has had a very good season. I went to the stats, and he's in the top ten in scoring and is a +6 on a terrible team. He's obviously not a "name" guy, but in terms of overall two-way play, I don't see very many guys who'd be a "lock" over Sekera.

I'd attribute that to being in Carolina, but Skinner's Calder hurts that angle. Gotta just be more of a "name" thing, as you pointed out. He should at the very least be in the discussion.

So is this the time we make our late season run, win a bunch of games in a row, then get a worse draft pick because of it? Happens every year lately.......

Sitting at my gate at RDU ready to go back to school, the flight before me is going to Cancun. Very attractive blonde woman with two adorable kids is standing to get ready to board. The kids are doing the stuff that adorable kids do, making faces with strangers, being friendly, whatever. I'm sitting there like "this mom is taking her toddlers to Cancun? Good for her to make the trip."

Then as they're getting ready to board Joni Pitkanen comes up and takes one of the strollers. So yeah, I guess foot rehab is probably more fun in Cancun. Also, seriously cute kids. No noticeable limp.

I remember seeing David Tanabe at a Dick's Sporting Goods store when he was out with a concussion. He seemed fine, but you never know with those things.

I met Craig Adams at a Circuit City. I think he was looking to buy a television.

I saw Stormy walking around Downtown Raleigh this past summer. That was weird.

I sound like Boring Sean Monahan

"no noticeable limp" is interesting even though it has been ~4 months since it was reported that he couldn't stand or put weight on it. who knows? good for him though as the picture painted before was one of him lying in bed with his leg up in the air.
