Sekera left practice early today and Michal Jordan was recalled on emergency basis. If Sekera, Liles and Faulk all miss the Rangers game..

Be patient and you could get help from Sam Bennett.

As of now the 'Canes would have the 7th pick assuming Buffalo keeps the #1 pick during the lottery. They have a 6 point lead over Calgary and the Islanders who are 5th and 4th. 4 of the next 18 are against teams lower than them in the standings. Don't know if they'll get into the top 5 this year. There's always hope that they win the lottery though I suppose.

Speculation. Nothing on the team injury report of on Chip's Twitter to back it up. In fact, the team injury report directly contradicts it and says Faulk out 7-10 days.

I've said this a few other times, but I speculate that Faulk was nursing something before the Olympics. He struggled before the Olympics and could be why he didn't even get in for the Slovenia game. Meaning, he could go if he had to, but he wasn't 100%. He comes back from the Olympics and when the Canes lose 4 straight and it's clear they are pretty much out of it, he shuts it down.

Again, total speculation on my part, but his play looked visibly worse over this stretch.

That seems like an entirely reasonable theory- there was also that hit in LA, I think, that probably aggravated whatever it was.

Still, Faulk playing at 40% would be a significant upgrade to that defense. Not that we need it, a nice high pick would be helpful. Might as well shut him down and let him get healthy, no point risking his health long term for a short term that means nothing.

Use the rest of this season to try and get Ward some work- if we can get him back into groove, we're looking at one of the better goalie combos in the NHL. Get Lindholm and Murphy more exposure and experience, accepting that they'll make mistakes now, but the experience will make them much better players in the long term, and hopefully ready to contribute at a high level next year. Oh, and that high draft pick.

I speculate that he's stuck on level 147 of Candy Crush and it's driven him to distraction and possibly well down the road to insanity.

Very small sample size in this poll, but it's still got to be a bit concerning. 40% of STH respondents say they are keeping their plan, 0% increasing their plan, 21% decreasing their plan, and 39% cancelling completely. With the across the board ticket price increases, things could be about to get (more) painful for the franchise at the box office.

The votes are up over 400 now, with results remaining similar. Would really appreciate it if folks here would weigh in, if you haven't already. I don't think you need a Canes Country/SB Nation sign-on to vote in the poll, but you will need one if you want to leave a comment.
