I have been too, but I'm curious to see how he is in a long season when it gets to the dreary parts of January and February. I think we may be seeing the case of "I want to impress the hell out of my fans" kind of game. He's a great player, but I want to wait until an entire season before I pass my judgement on him.

Also, I would take Luongo if we didn't have Moose or Marty. He seems like a great guy.

I didn't see much of Nash with NY but I found him very one-dimensional for a $7.8M player. Puck hogs don't last long once playoffs time come.

Don't like Nash, never really have and think he's wildly overpaid.

But he certainly looks more useful on the Rangers than he did in Columbus, at least.

I have never been a Nash fan either, and obviously that's not going to change now. But I think they're worse off now than they were last year. They sacrificed a lot of depth for more scoring. Everyone here knows how important depth is after going through last years playoffs. I think if we can upgrade our top six by acquiring someone that we would have similar results against the Rangers in the playoffs this year.

Nash is a world class talent. His defensive awareness is real good, his offensive instincts are top notch and he might be overpaid but when you're the face of the CBJ's, you can ask for the moon and they'll probably give it to you when it's time to talk contract.

The Rangers gave away close to nothing and the players they lost, they can easily replace IMO.

Sure a great individual skillset.

Though, he doesn't know how to pass the puck. He's a soft, floating puck hog. I find him extremely overrated, and Rangers or not, always has.

I've never really bought Nash as world class, truthfully. I know he's played with absolutely nobody most of his career, but I've always thought linemates weren't as necessary to a "star" player than an average guy.

I just don't see the body of work to support him being paid or lauded like he is.

He's not a star like IK was back in Atlanta but if you ask me, I'd take someone like Nash back when he was playing in Columbus over Kovalchuk in his Thrashers playing days.

One is dynamic but a one trick pony and the other isn't and can contribute in all facets of the game.

It's really a good thing that Kovy actually wanted to learn the defensive side of things or else we would've been linked with a burden of a contract for a decade and a half.

It's true, Nash has always had significant defensive value, but barring one season, that has never really bridged the gap between his offensive production and Kovalchuk's imo.

I'd still rather have Atlanta Kovy over CBJ Nash, because I think it's rarer to find that kind of singular ability on offense and easier to make up for mediocre D.

Riberio on a line with Kovalchuk or Elias sounds great.I like Ryder too for a 2nd line sniper.

I always liked Ribeiro and felt that Gainey made a even dumber trade then McDonagh, Higgins and whatever for Gomez when he moved Ribeiro for a #7 d-men in Janne Niinimaa.

I'd take him on my team any day of the week and like you said, he'd be real solid centering either Kovalchuk or Elias. He'd also bring another dimension on our PP cause his vision is second to none and would generate all kinds of shooting lanes for Kovy.

That's true, but they need more than just one addition, more likely two or a whole line. Kinda like what we did with CBGB. Idk if they could afford it. At least I hope not.

Would love Filppula, but I think he resigns with the Wings.

He would be perfect here.
