Haven't they been in the top 8 the last two years after 20-25 games too? They were in the top 8 until 55-60 games last year. We were tied at 8th with them going into the all star break.

That Getzlaf contract is hideous. He'll never live up to it. His best years are behind him and the Ducks are most likely about to lose Perry to FA and Ryan in the next couple of years and Selanne to retirement (well, sometime in the near future). I think they have to put it all on the line this year or they'll never get another shot with that lineup.

Yeah he looks like he's in his mid to late 30s. It's gotta suck to go bald that young. I knew a guy back in high school who was already losing his hair at 17. Felt bad for him because I dread going bald. I have a really fat head that would probably look awful without hair.

He looks 37 for sure. Not every bald guy looks older than they are, but he just looks way older than that. I can't think of what he looked like when he came into the league. I dread going bald too. I have more hair than most of the males did in my family at my age! I hope it's gonna stay!

RealKyper: Not confirmed but the number I heard last nite was in the ball park of 66M over 8 yrs. Aav of 8.25 for #ducks Getzlaf.

Not that it makes Zajacs's contract any better but it really puts in prospective the new contracts in this CBA.


I now wonder what happens now to the mid-tier guys that aren't stars nor bottom 6ers. It will be interesting to see if in the next few years, these guys taking less to stay on a winning team while stars are now making 8+ annually on the cap.
