Sather has 5 playoff series wins in 12 years with NYR. Tortorella has 3 of those 5. Torts sucks, but Sather is even worse. In his first 10 years, 2 playoff series wins for Sather while signing players like Redden, Rozsival, Gomez, Drury, Holik, Richards, Boogaard, Brashear, Kasparitis, and McCabe. How he has survived this long is beyond me.

Maybe, maybe not, depends who they bring in and what players get moved, etc...lot of possibilities at this point. What really sucks is we're not going to be seeing anymore of Torts' signature post game pressers and Brooksie confrontations...

They'd be stupid to not back the brinks truck up for Ruff but I've heard he wants a coach and Gm, total control thing. Tippett would be a hell of a hire. Vigneault, I've never been impressed with. Great regular season coach, can't get it done when it counts though.

Because James Dolan does not have any clue on how to run a hockey team and he is completely reliant on Sather to make his decisions. Maybe it is time that Mr. Dolan, determines that he needs a new consultant (GM) and staff to train him properly in how to make proper "hockey" decisions.

Every big-name coach is going to want that now that freaking Patrick Wah got it lol. Maybe we're seeing in the NHL what we're seeing in the NFL now, going away from expensive high-paid coaches for cheap, young assistants.
