Did anybody see the hockey references graphics they came out with?

Don't have a link, they showed one yesterday in the Avs game on the home broadcast. The one I just saw on Facebook is basically the most viewed team pages by state. Oddly, Islanders are tops in California, lol.

He’s probably just trying to make Hayes better. Whether this is the right approach is debatable.

Weird move to try and make a 30 year old, 9 year NHL veteran better by healthy scratching him.

Outside from all-time greats who continue to work on their game, I think Kevin Hayes is about as good as he's going to get at this point. And he's pretty darn good, considering he's near a point per game for a team who is in shambles.

In the world of psychology they’d call that transference.

It’s like kicking the dog when you come home from a hard day at work. Apologies to dog lovers.

The Flyers knew Hayes was soft when they signed him. Now they hired a coach who doesn’t tolerate soft players.

Coaches are in position to figure out how to get the best out of the players that they have. They need to cater their system and philosophy to put the players on their TEAM in the best position to win.

Coaches who make players bend to their will so the player obeys what the Coach wants, is just shitty and selfish.

It’s kind of a poorly kept secret that the guys Flyers room haven’t been a “team” in years. It was one of the things Tortorella spoke about when he was first hired. That was going to be unhappy with Kevin Hayes was inevitable, imo.

I don't even know who that is.

Depends where the team is. Philadelphia isn't in a position to win so Tortorella can emphasize the system/process way more because the wins just don't matter. He's using Hayes as a tool to get his point across to the rest of the team and young guys who will shape the team moving forward. Whether that works or not who knows.

I like Torts, but he does some odd things at times.

3rd year in the league but 27 years old. Zub signing for 4/$4.6M is reinforcement to me that Scott Mayfield is going to be in the $5M-$5.5/yr range. Let’s not let him walk and be a bargain signing for another team.

Extend Mayfield now.

I agree and can’t wait for this fanbase to lose their stuff when it happens. He’s not a former 1st rounder, isn’t Devon Toews, and he’s gonna be 31 in year one of the deal. He’s gonna face the wrath of the ‘cap space’ ‘Lou always resigns his UFAs’ ‘Lou hasn’t made a player trade’ yada yada yada.

You sign Mayfield asap, flip Pulock to Vancouver for a soon-to-be signed Horvat and bring back Luke Schenn too. Flip a pick to Anaheim for one of shatty, Klingberg, or Kulikov.

Pulock at his current price tag w/ zero offense is overpaid by $2M. He’s not gonna age well on that deal.

Pulock’s NTC means he’s not going anywhere.

At this point, for those zealots still pining for Toews, a Bobby Orr clone wouldn't suffice.

On today's Forums, the discussion would go like . . .

We can't offer Orr an 8-year deal because he's injury-prone. Too bad there weren't better knee surgery techniques. The point totals and career +/- would be frightening.
