Lou let this team die on the vine. The only big move he’s made in his tenure is hiring and firing Trotz.
And I’m sorry to those who think there is a window for the Cup with this roster, but that window was 2 years ago. They fell short. Last year was the last time this roster deserved a chance to take a swing for the fences. Fairly or unfairly, COVID decimated the season. It was time to move on. The rest of the league did. But Lou felt the guys deserved their chance and went to the mat for for them, the same underperforming guys from 2 years ago, 2 years older, and fired a Hall of Fame coach to spur more offense out of them.
Time marched on, but Lou kept things the same.
