It's really kind of astounding when you think about it. 107 points is the 7th highest total in the almost 100 year history of the New York Rangers and we had 22 regulation losses in 82 games.

We finished THIRD. Crazy.

Funny that you have to go to the Devils board (which is 99.9% about the Rangers lol) to read this:

“Their team is much more well coached than ours by Gallant, who has done a fantastic job.”

I fell out of my Rangerstown tree-house reading that !

”Look at the red line in this chart we will win the cup”
”If Trouba hits one of our guys hopefully we run Shesterkin over”
Bunch of goofballs lol

The whole league has gone topsy-turvy.

Number of players who scored 40+ goals and the respective league max for that year:

2002: 4 (52)
2003: 6 (50)
2004: 3 (41)

2023: 14 (64)

We went from 20 goals being solid to just ok; from 30 being impressive to food; from 40 being outstanding to great. It feels like 60 is the new 50 and 50 is the new 40. Just odd to see after all those years.

He's not wrong. The playoffs tend to have the pace slowed down and teams play tighter.
I think we are capable of that but I fear Gallant will try to turn this into a track meet and we will lose. If we tighten up and play the physical game we are capable of we should win (provided Shesterkin looks like he did the last month).

The excitement is insane. As much as the Canes would been a better matchup, it doesn’t get much better than Rangers/Devils in the playoffs. Can’t f***ing wait. Have tickets for HG 1 Saturday night and the Garden will be rockin!

Im sorry what? Gallant has never wanted to turn us into a track meet team.
He likes offense but not via track meet.

It would be catstrophic for our organization if we lost in the first round this year based off of expectations from last year and from management. It would mean that the evaluation of where we think we are as an organization is completely wrong.

In anyway, LGR beat these satan worshippers.

That's why I wanted the team to watch that tape. You can beat this style, if that's all they can do.
Considering that hughes is great, but he can't match the 2 way play of barkov and barkov is considerably bigger and plays more physical. It does give me alot of hope.

I mean, the Devils are no slouch. In a lot of the years, this wouldn't be a first-round match-up, but at least a 2nd round one.

This isn't a good matchup for us.

I think Devils take it from us.

Stupid.
Hate this argument. Carolina wasnt a great matchup for us last year and there was not a doubt we were winning that series once the puck dropped last year

Jersey will not beat a structured team.

Can we play structured/disciplined? that's the question. Roster talent isn't the issue. It comes down to coaching and execution... unfortunately that's the one area I've been suspect on this team for too long.

A team like Tampa or Boston make easy work of Jersey imo.

I think Carolina would have been a better match up. Devils speed game is an issue but we can score against them. I’m hoping the inexperienced factor comes into play. Have to jump early on them.
