As a sports fan, I literally want nothing more than for the Rangers to win the Cup. Beating the Devils and potentially Islanders on the way there, just like in 94, would be incredible. Also, is it wrong that I hope LA gets to the Final so we can sweep their ass and get revenge for 2014?

My ideal scenario would be somehow beating NJD, NYI, TBL, and LAK on route to a Cup.

Just get to 16. Don't care how they do it. Though that is a nice route.

The final games were Friday. One playoff team was still playing, so guess they wanted to give everyone at least A couple of days off.

You need to set up travel. Hotels and flights have to be booked. You had some teams that had been traveling and needed to get home.

Also FWIW, you’ll see that every series has an extra day of rest between games four and five.

Yes but they could have either ended the season a few days early or extended the reg season. Makes no sense that the nhl's biggest night in canada atleast, not sure about the US, has no hockey on this weekend, playoffs should have started saturday, reg season should have ended tuesday

Had that happen one month (6 months or so ago). Then it simply stopped. My take was it was a veiled attempt at extracting $ for Sports+; when I didn’t bite, they gave up forever. It’s never happened again.

The Rangers will win this series if they can constantly get the puck deep and make the Devils defense handle the puck. Too many neutral zone turnovers and the Rangers will be in big trouble.

Ruff wasn't good here or in Buffalo imo, not sure why he'd be good there.

Take the middle away, lean on their smaller players and its a series win. If we try and out skill them we won't win, we need to slow it down and drag it into the mud.

Their success on their attack is predominantly on Brunnette IMO. He infused Florida's game with Jersey's speed and talent.

You'll see their attack take a hit next season when Brunnette gets a Head Coaching gig.... unless they can mimic it without him.

I'd love to see Anaheim get Brunette if they land Bedard. Would be a fun team to watch

Understandable but I don't see the Lighning or Kings getting out of the first round.

This isn''t an ideal matchup. The Devils team speed is going to be a challenge. I think if we play aggressively but smart, stay out of the box, and Igor dominates, we'll be able to win.

NJ play fast in the regular season but the playoffs is a different story.
Similar to how Carolina is a great regular season team but not so dominant in the playoffs, I think the Devils will look a little more human come Tuesday.
