Regarding the pessimism on Kane - something in my gut tells me he’s been husbanding his health/hip for the playoffs. I’m expecting a BIG first period from him in game 1

I predict:

We lose game one, everybody goes crazy, it goes the distance, The Ghost of Kravtsov Past haunts Shesty, he gets no sleep before game 7 and gets lit up. The Rangers prevail on the back of a double hattrick from Ben Harpur.

Agree. We do have talent but my issue is that our "top guys" are aging. The kids haven't been given the reins yet. While the Devils' young guys ARE their top guys because in the years prior they were grown that way. Rangers stiffled and delayed the development of our young guys while the Devils spoon fed top minutes and situations to their young guys. So while we have kids that SHOULD be where the Devils young guys are at in their development, ours despite being the same age groups are behind because our organization threw all it's eggs in the Panarin basket instead of the high draft picks.

The Devils actually also have more young talent because they were bad for longer.

People are underestimating the difference this year's version of hot fresh bread is going to make vs the moldy bread we had last playoffs.
I really hope so! Another crap playoff performance and I am going to be really angry at the second highest cap hit in the entire NHL.

I fear he is still too much of a pond hockey guy.
