Snowblind, do everyone a favor and shut up. Your schtick got old for me after 2 days in HF. It's obvious that you have some sort of mystifying agenda against Lundqvist. So again, please do this board a favor and shut up about over analyzing every single play Lundqvist has ever made.

K thanx.

Del Z is the best hitter on the d. Rehabilitating his game would be best for us.

Good game. I have to believe that this team has finally turned the corner! Not just because we are winning , I am seeing consistent efforts every game and the mental lapses are becoming much fewer.
One thing I am Really enjoying is the power play . I actually am optimistic that we will score when a penalty is drawn, which is a strange but wonderful feeling...
Another point I am seeing that is ultra refreshing, is the consistent lines that allow chemistry to build! After the insane and reactionary line combos and juggling we were assaulted with by Torture-Ella, it sure is nice to have a chance for players to mesh with each other. The balance of the lineup is much better under Vigneault too. You can tell he actually understands the importance of having role players play their roles and puts scorers in positions to score. Also he doesn't do this garbage punishment treatment of putting players on the 4th line as a form of calling them out like Torts did. Not playing to your potential? Pressbox for a game or two, but let's coach you up to correct your shortcomings. MZA . Scratched. Comes back a man possessed !
Poop. Scratched. Comes back to have a stretch of games even he himself is surprised at, and is not taking lazy penalties!
Del Zotto? Played like crap for the whole season. Scratched. Scratched. Reinserted. Still not getting it. Scratched . Scratched. Reinserted. Not yet there bud... Scratched. Reinserted. Well, it looks like he is finally getting it! Playing physical for the first stretch in years, making smart passes. His confidence looks intact again.
Bravo

Please discuss Tortorella's system and AV's coverages at length and talk to me about quality chances and blocked shots and why there might be a difference between the #'s that Lundqvist has put up.

Ok. 2011-12, Lundqvist faced 1753 shots against in 62 games. 28.27 saves/game

so far in 2013-2014 he faced 943 shots against in 34 games. 27.73 saves/ g

So he's had to work LESS.

I know you're getting killed here, but I happen to agree with you. Against Chicago, the second goal was very weak (though he was great in the third). In this game, that second goal, last year he makes the save and on the first goal, despite that it should have been a penalty due to the hook on Staal, he was out of position.

Rangers played mostly well, shut down their top line thanks to MCD and Girardi, and it should have been a much easier win.

Are you serious the second goal was weak? Is this your first hockey game you've watched? Honestly some of the posts here make you question what kind of fan base truly exists in this city. Give me a god damn break, it's a 2 on 1, sorry Hank didn't turn into God, I guess giving up two goals is forbidden now, it's shutout or bust. He only beAt the Defending cup champs in their building but I'm sorry Hank you gave up two goals so your awful. Some of you need to lock yourselves in a closet and watch videos of Mike Dunham, or better just lock yourselves in a closet and don't post at all, the world will be a smarter place.

It's not just how many goals he gives up, it's also the quality of goals. The guy gives up a softy a game now.

Snowblind just curious. Who do think we could get for Hank?

Just asking.

Glad to see we walked away with the win, and that the PP is still very much alive. Is it time to break up that third line now perhaps ? I see even AV doesnt trust it very much

These are big wins at a time when this team has an opportunity to make something out of the second half of the season.

Maybe I should've bolded QUALITY CHANCES. It doesn't matter. If you're comparing a perennial underachiever to a guy that's arguably the best that's ever played at his position for an original 6 franchise then there isn't much of a point.

Yes I thought the second goal was weak. As was the first, and yes, he made some good saves, but I thought we outplayed Dallas by a significant margin and it should have been a much easier win. And, no, I'm not on the "get rid of Lundqvist" bandwagon, and I definitely see improvement, but he is getting out-goaltended this year more often than not, and he is not anywhere close to where he used to be. My point on the second goal was he used to stop those shots.

As to how many games I've seen, I see roughly 150 games a year for 55 years - you do the math, I'm a public school graduate. And I don't live in New York anymore, left twenty years ago (I was a Ranger season ticket holder and went to EVERY game for 25 years - I was at the game where Eddie Giacomin came back after he was traded, that was almost scary.

To be far, Snow defended Hank pretty rigorously on the mainboards pre/start of the season.
