I love watching this system. After all those years of snoozefest dump and chase; rinse and repeat nonsense, its really a breath of fresh air.
(Now that they are winning.)

Man imagine what people would be posting if we were 2-7-1 instead of 7-2-1 in the last 10?? Can this team get any credit for anything?
I just read through the whole thread and it's so incredibly unbelievable. Post after post about how Hank lets in softies, Nash is invisible, the team won a game they should have won and they still can't defend or play offense. Honestly, I get that people come here to vent about the team but can we at least enjoy the win around here?
I'm going to go back to enjoying the win. One thing I learned being a sports fan is to enjoy a win no matter how they come.
Good Point. I dont care if stepan scores goal but if he is gonna be a number 1 C then he has to do a better job of setting up his wingers. Often times kreider and nahs ahve to set eachother up which makes it harder for them to go to the net
First off i think you are misinterpreting. I never called him a bum. I simply said he has been disappointing this year compared to last yearjust bc your not putting up points consistently doesn't mean your struggling right now.. doesn't make him not a productive player..
i think you should watch the games more carefully, hes setting kredier and nash up all the time..
-more stretch passes to spring them, then in zone tic tak toe passing..
i just want a player thats solid on both sides of the rink, not one dimensional and hes a top 6 center..
I am presuming that you have equally loved what you have seen the entire year, not just currently. I am also presuming that you have fallen in love with the 5 on 5 play, not just the PP.I love watching this system. I think Kreider is coming along really well, but the yard-stick used when evaluating him is a bit off.
He has had some good overall games this season, but on most nights and basically since he was taken off Zucc's line the good plays he makes are on the marginal.
For example, had he played exactly like he did last night but had one (1) rush with the puck and one (1) hit, I wouldn't at all be surprised to see 20 posts about Kreider being our best player.
He is still a rookie.
He is playing on a line that isn't functioning well.
He isn't the type of player who carries the play.
We should definitely not tear him apart or whatever, but you know, sometimes I think people see what they want to see in him...
Staal and MDZ looked very good last night. Yes, MDZ had a scary moment, but other than that he's been playing well recently.

Really, you think Staal had a good game? I thought he was really bad last night.
He didn't look good when he got caught up ice on the 3-on-1 that led to the 2nd Stars goal.
But I liked his play at other points.
Kreider made a few goofy plays in his own zone.
That goal was a tripping? If it's the one I recall, Staal was clearly tripped and the goal is on the refs.
“I think it was 50-percent luck … well, probably 70-percent luck and 30-percent skill,” No. 61 said. “I was just following the puck and it rolled up. It went a little higher than anticipated but luckily it went in.”

Yes. People focus too much on a single play and not enough on the effort over 60 minutes. He was great with the stick and eliminated several good scoring chances. I thought he had a strong game.
A little of both, but the key here is the attempt. And the confidence to make it.
No attempt, no shot, no goal.
That's the difference with Nasher's game recently. The confidence and the effort are better.
Not where they should be but better.
Well said. Obviously, the shot was a bit of luck to go exactly where it did, but the attempt took some serious skill to see happening in real time, and to stop on a dime like that and make Rome look like an idiot. If Nash plays with that swag going forward, we're going to see the Nash we saw last year far more often than the ghost he's been in very recent history.
While that line has been great, I was thinking hags could get step and Nash jump started. i think Kreider could also do well on that line with Cally and brad.
Thanks.
Yes. We can only hope.
I've always maintained that Nasher has the skill. He just needs to be trying much harder much more consistently.
His battle level is the key. At some point he has to get that his time is now.
