Yeah, Ryan M. still an all star player - so one off game is nothing to be worried about.

Not going to win them all. I'll take 6 out of 7 every time. Onward and upward. And maybe see if Smith is in shape yet.

AV got a taste of proper home advantage management and he had nothing to offer to counteract. Chicago top lines against our 3rd D pair and bottom 6 time and time again.

His use of JT Miller with DD is disgusting. Vesey keep getting himself in a position to generate scoring chances but this is why he should be on the 4th line until he learns how to convert.

Boo wasn't ready to play more than half the game but this is explainable. AV should have cut down to 3 lines with Miller or Hayes centering Fast and Grabs midway the 2nd period. The team had a lot of time off so being tired shouldn't have been an issue. Alas, asking AV to make an in game adjustment is like ODC wishing for Tarasenko over McI. Pointless.

I'm holding my breath on Staal. I'm always cautious of slowing down veterans having vintage performance in October and November. Typically they revert to their expected regressed performance by Christmas. I feel this is what will be happening here.

Really disappointed in this game. Who knew a little softie goal that trickled in would open up the floodgates, but think it was not scoring on that 4 min PP that really sucked the wind out of their sails.

the first goal henrik gave up was awful...theres no excuse...but its at least worth noting that the Rangers gave up a crap ton of quality chances BEFORE that goal. so if he stopped that one, but gave up one of the others, it would have been the same thing.

Henriks not the reason we lost this one. YES, thats a horribad goal..but no, not his fault..the defensive zone coverage was atrocious...i cant even count the number of times a blackhawk rotation pulled a defenseman up to the point and had a forward guarding the crease.

but yeah...man to man defense.

He had been playing an outstanding game up to that point.

After that goal, he completely fell apart.

That goal doesn't happen, Rangers probably find a way to win that game, regardless of player usage.
He didn’t fall apart after it imo, you can’t let multiple players bang around taking shots 6 inches from the goal line and call that defense

Hank obviously fully to blame on the first goal. Those happen, but it can't happen there. After that though the guys had a chance to regroup and play a strong third and instead they decided they didn't want to play any defense and the wheels fell off.

I think Smith would have been useful this game. One area he excels is net front. Hard for me to believe he's still not in game shape 20 games in.

Henrik fell apart and the PP blew ass, result, loss. Wow I'm shocked. It's almost as if the goaltending and PP were the reason they were on a 6 game win streak to begin with.

Edit: Before someone takes this the wrong way I'm not blaming Henrik, I'm just saying he couldn't keep stopping every high danger scoring chance forever.

First goal that partly a bad luck (could've easily gotten a whistle there) but it felt like Chicago goal was coming anyway.

But I failed to see how Lundquist fell apart after that? What goals from in front of goal mouth was on him?

I want to know what happened to the 1st line in the 3rd. Wtf happened Alain? Kept rolling out that trash Desharnais line that looked like a dumpster fire last night with no impact on the game. Was he blaming Buch for the early goal in the 3rd? He certainly shouldnt be. You pull to within one and your best line is not getting minutes every other shift? Despicable.

The other bench had a better coach on it. They had a guy who is a winner. We have a f***ing degenerate loser. It just shows you, yea this personnel can rattle off wins, but when push comes to shove, AV sticks to his guns playing the wrong guys, rolling the wrong lines or even somehow quite possibly forgetting about players, and not capable of making adjustments to the different aspects of your gameplan when the other team is stifling you. We will never win with him.

Henrik Drunkqvist and the New York dumbasses made an appearance last night.

- Awful goal right before the period end
- "Lets forget that awful period and come out strong in the third!", says every team that isn't the Rangers. Our squad gives up 3 more in the first 5 minutes of the third.
- Pathetic defense all around. McDonagh in no mans land for like 4 of those goals, all in front
- Ex Ranger scores his first hat trick. And it's none other than Anisimov, one of the most mediocre players in the league.

Also Doc doesn't even try to hide who he's rooting for. Listen to his voice when Anisimov scores the 2nd Hawks goal, and then listen when Hayes scores. Just pure bias.

Woof all around. Yikes.

Uh, no they don't, not if they came out and played as poorly in their own zone in the 3rd as they did. Their defense in front of the net was atrocious in the 3rd, a 1-0 lead doesn't mean jack if you're giving the other team those chances.

There's no excuse for coming out as poorly as they did in the 3rd and no, giving up a tying goal in the last minute of the 2nd doesn't explain that away. 1-1 going into the third is not a death sentence.

They had no business winning last night. They had no answer once Chicago clamped down the neutral zone. You don't manage the puck, you don't win.

Arty with the greasiest hatty i've seen in a long time. The Hayden goal was shit as well, so many whacks the Hawks had after Hank makes the first stop. This team simply CANT clear the crease/rebounds like I see so many teams around the league do quite easily. Hank has not been vintage, but his D is not doing him any favors, he often makes very difficult saves but I feel like 90% of the goals this team gives up are garbage goals.

How about not converting on that double minor? Hawks put on a PK clinic on the top unit. Pressure the puck carrier, then pressure the points. Other teams will be looking at that tape. Maybe that would've gave them a couple of goals cushion before the 3rd period meltdown.

I agree....as long as it doesn't spiral into 6 of 8....then 6 of 9...and so on, and so on.....

Our lack of consistency makes me worried for a downward trend.

oh no we suck again. trade everyone.

good 1st period. good open ice end to end skating action. thought we were good and was looking for the 2-0 goal to allow us to smother them on the road. never happened.

cannot play like that against a tea like chicago. too many open guys down low, too much running around and too much stevie wonder defense cost us the game. henrik with 1 softy then we let them own the from of our net. cant blame hank. defense didnt come to play in the 2nd and 3rd.

regroup and win the next one.
