Very sloppy game. AV said this team would be ready to go tonight - they weren't.

Hank's focus wasn't in it. McD, G, Staal, and Stralman did not have their heads on right, either.

We didn't lose this game on the penalties we took. We lost it with our lack of focus. Constant defensive lapses and sloppy passing. Blown coverage. Easy goals. Easy odd man rushes given.

That's what it boiled down to.

 This made my night a little better.

I actually liked Plekanec before this series. Good two way player, always give it his all. Welp, so much for that.

This game was a carbon copy of Game 5 of the 1994 finals.

Whole world expected a closeout. Vancouver races to a 3-0 lead. Rangers tie it up 3-3, and seconds after Mess tied it Dave Babych scored a horrible goal and the floodgates opened. Richter and Leetch were horrendous that night.

Game 6 will be a cleaner game. This was an utterly sloppy game.

Richter was awful, I'm mean really awful, in that game.

Hopefully Lundqvist will shake this performance off and play like he can in Game 6.

Look there are a lot of things about the officiating this series that pisses me off but this one was 100% in the Rangers' control. Sames as game 3.

D and Hank need to step it up or it's time to hit the driving range.

Yup. This has been a problem for ages. They can never put away an opponent with ease. Tonight it looks like they totally **** their pants and weren't prepared for the pressure of a finals-clinching game.

“@AGrossRecord: AV says he pulled Lundqvist looking for some momentum/send message to team. Did not consider putting Lundqvist back for third period.”

I'm disheartened by their performance and will be pessimistic in the next game. I don't know what to expect.

Sorry but this.

Two games in a row they've played like trash.

Montreal picking up momentum.

Where do we go from here? They haven't played a good 60 minute effort since game 3, a loss.

REALLY bad trending.

First two games: All NYR

Next 3: Game 3 was close, so was Game 4, and we almost got blown out tonight if it wasn't for tying it up there.

I don't know, Games 1 and 2 were a long time ago. Next 3 tell a different story. Whether it's the Rangers losing their composure or refs calling a tighter game or whatever philosophy you want to buy in, the Rangers are not playing like they were in 1 and 2. Taking way too many dumb penalties, whether MTL is diving or not. They are losing their composure out there, and that's a major problem in my eyes.

Moore is going to be suspended for the rest of the series. Diaz is going to have to play Game 6 and if necessary, a Game 7. Going to be tough for a guy to jump into an intense series like this.

Staal and Girardi have got to be better. They have both just been awful both offensively and defensively. All of Staal'ls shots get blocked. Both have had their fair share of defensive lapses this series, and that has to stop now. Defense has to tighten up here.

Offensively, we have to stop with the passive BS. Get pucks on goal. This guy isn't Patrick Roy. He didn't look good tonight, but we didn't test him enough. Stop sending passes into traffic where the pass was never going to get through, and start shooting. Going to need to shoot if they want to score. Way too many shots passed up for extremely questionable passes tonight into extreme traffic. Someone has to take this thing by the horns and start throwing everything on net. Be selfish. Obviously, passing is important, but when they are sending passes into traffic when they could be throwing shots on a goalie who was shaky tonight, that's where it has to end.

Maintain composure, play better defense, and shoot more.

Habs were desperate. We weren't. It's human nature. Similar game in some ways to GM 6 vs PHI. Brush it off, regroup, focus on the next one.

Beat them on Thursday. Advance. Never speak of this game again. Except for the fact that Kreider had 4 points in a big playoff game. That was one point of solace.

Between the rangers and the niners the last three years I've had my share of teasing disappointments. End this in six please. Terrible game tonight.

The ship just kept taking water. when hank caved in it really deflated them.

Rangers defense was a bad as could be in front of him.

They could of had Lundqvist and Talbot in net and they wouldve still lost.

They're both slugs with literally no puck ability what so ever.

How inept they've been this series has been infuriating.

Hank better find the God mode he slipped into vs Pitt because it's gonna get harder every game going forward.

Staal is so bad with the puck it's embarassing.

Also, I really didn't like Kreider's effort on the Bourque goal. I really thought Kreider could have turned on the jets and disrupted that play. He looks so fast on offense, but has to be able to translate that speed to defense. The game was 5-4 at the time, and that goal killed any chance of coming back. Maybe I'm overestimating his speed, but I really think he could have skated harder for that one. Disappointed in the effort.

Feels like 2009/12 like I said. The team is not capable of playing a consistent game. They have no urgency.
