Negativity...unreal

The negativity in here is un****en real after a loss let alone an ECF loss...makes me laugh. Couple of things for you Negative Nancy's in here who think we are now going to lose the series:

1. Before series we were underdogs...yes? If you were told we'd be up 3-2 heading home to close it out, would you have signed up for that?

2. Before series, if I told you Nash, Stepan, Kreider, Hagelin, St. Louis, McDonagh and a few others would be snaring some points for us fairly consistently would you have taken it?

3. Before series, if I told you Hank would have one clunker and the rest of the games he'd be very Hank god like, would you have taken it?

4. Lastly, if I told you a rookie goalie Tokarski was going to be the guy who would need to lead the Habs not Carey Price back from a 3-1 deficit and who just so happened to give up his Ken Dryden/Patty Roy cape last night, would you have taken it?

5. Lastly is this Ranger team not the best team we've had since the 1994 Cup team? Is this team not the most resilient we've had since probably that team as well? And has this team not shown an ability to handle adversity and emerge victorious?

If you can't answer yes to all that I just mentioned, you my Negative Nancy friends either haven't been watching the same games the rest of us have been watching or you've been so scarred and jilted over the years, due to the psychological damage over the years of tough losses, there is no help for you as you Nancy's would be the same people who would say even if were up 3-0 in a series, that we were going to blow it.

Have some blind faith for once and realize this is not the same ole same ole Ranger teams of the past. We are going to take care of business Thursday as it's our turn this year to be a team of destiny like it or not! So enough with the negative BS...it's embarrassing to read that one loss at another teams barn can get you thinking we are done...****en ridiculous!

Marc Staal is costing us the series? Not sure why you say this. We're up 3 games to 2.

The series could be over if he covered his man in Overtime of Game 3. He's been on the ice for many goals against. He had a weak defensive play on the 2-1 Montreal goal last night. He is also constantly having his shots blocked by the other team. I can't even remember the last time he got a shot on net during these playoffs. Staal was outstanding defensively during the Pitt series, I'm hoping we see that Staal again soon.

Amen..yes yes and yes

You have hit the nail on the coffin
Ill add 3 consecutive wins at the bell center where we all know the problems we have had

He has one of the higher +/- this series on the team. So in fact, you would be wrong.

#nhl player security department is looking at an incident involving #canadiens Rene Bourque on Dorsett. And Dorsett headbutt too. #tvasports

Good. maybe he gets a game too? :yo:

Messy game. Too bad the comeback came up short... Things just got a bit tense. Welp.

Gotta end it back at home, boys.

...

I still believe we will win this series...on Thursday.

This game was very unlike our team. We rarely give up 7 goals and play so sloppy.

The good news is that we are starting to figure out Tokarski. He comes out too far, so we can then make a pass like McDonagh did. He also gives up some big rebounds so we need to keep going to the net.

I would like to see us shoot some more. We had 27 shots. However, against such a shaky goalie the more the better. If we can get about 35-40 shots on Thursday, and not give up 7 goals, we should be able to win the game. We did score 4 on him...we can easily score 4 or 5 on him again...and I don't see us giving up 7 again.

So all of that is good news.

Would be a good trade off.

Is there some law in these playoffs that states McD and Staal can't play awesome at the same time?

Yeah Staal has been abysmal. His partner hasn't been stellar either.

Zucc has been quietly sucking. I think it is time to break up that line.

In the 3rd AV should have moved Brassard into Richards place and only rolled three lines.

Team defense was non-existent last night.

Gave away the blue line.

Gave away the center of the ice.

Gave away the front of the net.

If they played like that in pre-season it would be pathetic. In the ECF with a chance to close out your opponent? Inexcusable.

Yea during the game last night I started wondering about the last time Zucc even took at decent shot at net. (He had his crease goal in Game 1 though)

Staal could have tackled Galchenyuk and that puck would have been in the net. It hit him in the face and bounced in.

I think him playing so far out is the problem actually. Instead of shooting they were looking for that extra or perfect pass to catch him out of position. They need to shoot and crash the net for the rebounds. Enough with the passes.

Yup. But the Rangers are content with making the pretty passing play even though it may not be the most effective way to score. This has been a recurring problem throughout the playoffs. Tokarski's rebound control has been lousy (as have the other goalies they have faced in the playoffs) and the Rangers are rarely in the right position to convert.
