The Habs scored alot of lucky goals. What was it, 5 goals that went post or bar in? Plekanec with a volley that could just as well have ended up in the upper bowl. Bourque had his lottery ticket game where each of his goal could just as easily have been post out. That ridiculous effectiveness from their forwards was far from skill only.

Both teams played an awful game, the only difference is that the Habs were somehow able to capitalize. The bounces just went their way.

Aren't majors taken after the end of a game automatic 1 game suspensions? I remember there at least used to be a rule like that. Could be wrong though.

I'm not sure about that, but I do believe a cross check with a game misconduct is an automatic review by the league. I also know Bourque does have suspension history - 2 games for a hit on Seabrook I believe and he got 4 or 5 games in another instance - I just don't know how recent those are.

What I'm curious to see, with all this talk about Moore's hit, is the Rene Bourque penalty. Bourque got a 5 minute major for crosschecking and a game misconduct at the 20 minute mark of the third. It will be interesting to see if the league looks at that.

I am going to say no.
And I think Moore will get Moore games than prust did.

I just want this over tomorrow. I hate this team and cannot stand most of the fans. I have been watching over 4 decades and this is among the worst I've ever seen. Some are cool and straight up, to be fair, but the ones that are ridiculous are so far out of it that you wonder if you're in an alternate reality when you read their comments. You know it's ****ed when you wish you were playing Boston to have more ethical hockey, more tolerable fans, and think your team would get less injuries.

My main reason for wondering is that Bourque does have suspension history with at least two suspensions, and I think one of them was a head shot that notched him like 5 games. Nice avatar

Ha thanks, my wife bought that for me for Christmas a few years ago. He comes with an angry face and a regular face, if I wasn't on vacation I would change it to the angry face.

Speaking of vacation I agree with you about wanting this over. I have had to use a lot of points up with the family to watch games four and five while at the beach this week. Now I am going to have to do even more so I can watch game six, when it should have been over in four.

I love how on the main boards there are like 4 suspend Ranger players threads but the one thread on Bourque is locked.

Priceless.

The best part being that that one thread was closed by a Habs mod, with the statement "Hah, NO.". That seems a little sketchy to me, but who really cares I guess.

Yup he has 2. The first one was for a hit from behind on Seabrook that got him 2 games:

The second one was 5 game for an elbow on Backstrom:

He also got away with another elbow on Conacher in game 3 against the Sens last year:

He's certainly no angel.

10 years of marriage and I never got a NYR Mr Potato Head. You have a good woman in your life.

Glass Half Full.

Let's put things in perspective. 3 weeks ago after game 4 Pens, I walked out of MSG pretty sure that our season was over. 3 weeks later we are one win away from the SCF. So, I think we all would've signed up for this 3 weeks ago.

Having said that, I'm still pissed that Hank laid an egg again in game 5 of the ECF for the 2nd time.

At least call it like it is. The whole team laid an egg. They were all over the place. Sloppy passes. Forced passes. Turnovers. Horrible defensively. This was a total team effort.

The team is playing worse and worse as the series goes along. Allowing more and more point shots, traffic in front and high quality scoring chances. AV needs to adjust here and get his team defense back quickly or they will screw this up.

It's official, Montreal has got into their heads.

Coming into the series, Montreal thought they were a straight up better team than us because they beat Boston. Montreal played a "nice" straight up game with us and they got smoked in Game 1. They ratcheted up the aggression in Game 2, but refrained from the embellishment and sniping, and they got stonewalled by Hank and good D. Come Game 3, it began. The diving, the complaining, the whining, the sniping comments. Everything. Boston fans have been saying it all along, this is Montreal's way of winning. They aren't a fantastically talented team. They have to resort to this ******** in order to bridge the gap so to speak. Now the Rangers are being overly aggressive and taking stupid penalties, not playing their game.

AV needs to get the team's heads on straight. Carcillo suspended. Looks like both Dorsett and J. Moore will be suspended. Miller is injured. Our players are dropping like flies. Montreal has brought this series to their level and it has showed as the further we go in this series, the further we are walking into their mind games and the further we are from playing our game. It is no coincidence that the longer the series has gone, the worse we have looked. If we don't stop the bleeding tomorrow, we are in DEEP ****.

Yep. They are letting all this nonsense get in their heads. This series is becoming a circus. Just look at NBC commenting on the joke that is the officiating and embellishing.

Anyone have a link to the video of Bourque's cross-check? I turned the game off because I was on the NBC app on my Kindle and someone texted me that it was a final - missed the last minute knowing we lost 7-4.

Gotta throw this one away for sure. Dont worry AV will have this team ready. So will the leaders on this team.

The Rangers couldnt do anything last night. Fumbling the puck, massive amount of giveaways. Their gap control was the worst its been all playoffs. Too much backing in. Missed assignments. Not supporting each other on the breakouts or forecheck. I mean everything they needed to do they had trouble with. It was one of those games. And with all of that is was a 1 goal game going into the third. I thought they could have pulled it out and paid the Habs back for that 5-0 comeback years ago but they just didnt play well enough. Disappointing but a few bright spots. Moore with a very stupid run at Weise. Not sure what he was thinking there.

Klein was a beast and showed some great offense. Ate up some minutes at the end to allow some rest for the Rangers defense. Good job there.

Kreider with a 4 point game. But a real screwball penalty to lead off the game. He wasnt in the right position to make a play on Subban there. Thats some of the things he needs to learn. While he had a good point output, he continues to be bad on the boards. Thats something he really needs to work on going into next season and Thurs night. He needs to get in there and dig and use his body.

I thought Nash had a very good game and was one of the better Rangers.

St. Louis couldnt stay on his skates all night. Not sure why. But the Rangers PP looked pretty good. They moved the puck well and got some chances, and scored.

The biggest thing you can take away from last night - The Rangers may have played the worst game of the playoffs (or second worst) yet they still managed to put 4 pucks behind Tokarski and one that hit his shaft otherwise its 5. All the Rangers have to do is get back to their structure and worry about staying out of the box and keeping pucks out of the net.

I think the Rangers will come back in Game 6 and be fine. The one thing im concerned about is trying to play too fine of a game defensively and allowing Montreal to come into the zone like last night. They need to be up on the play pressuring Montreal, but supporting eachother better. They cant expect to simply play defense, help Lundqvist and get the series. They need to get back to the forecheck game and get a lead early. The first goal is going to be huge. The Rangers play well with the lead.

As far as goaltending goes, it was a funky game. No doubt Lundqvist would want a couple of those back. Most of them were point blank but even though the Plecanec shot was a laser, i think he should have stopped it from tat far out. Worried? A tad. But hell be read and focused.

Dont want to go back to Montreal. They need to win this at home and they can. This is the type of adversity you need to overcome to do something special. Take it as a challenge, a learning lesson.

They had one stinker. Montreal had one the FIRST game of this series. It happens. Each game is a completely different animal. Momentum hardly shifts game to game. It all comes down to the individual night. Once they hit the ice and the puck drops, you get a better feel for how the game is going to go.

They can easily come out tomorrow night and dominate the entire game.

Momentum will be on our side naturally because of the home crowd, but it is up to the players to show up and produce.

They have to get it done tomorrow, if they don't its a complete crap shoot for Game 7 because anything can happen. Scary thought.

Just like Mike Keenan said to a dejected team, with their heads down, in the locker room after they were 7 seconds away from winning Game 7 ECF in 94'.

"Just think about how good its going to feel when you score that goal and win"

The players have to think about how good it will feel to win the Prince of Wales trophy on home ice and be crowned Eastern Conference Champions.

Cementing their first ride to the Stanley Cup Final since 94'.

They can make history at home tomorrow night, it's up to them to want it as much, and more than we as fans do.

:rangers

Why the hell is Dorsett being suspended? Honest question.

He won't be, but if he does, Bourque should be too.

FYI, I"m not sure if many know this, but Bourque got a major and misconduct for his cross-check on Dorsett at the end of the game.

I finally figured out why Emrick sounds less emphatic whenever the Rangers do something right...He was the Devils play by play for 18 freakin years!!
