Haven't seen it mentioned yet (but I try to stay away from GDT's during the game)

Did anyone else think that M. Richards got away with a big time hold on Stralman's stick during Doughty's goal? Stralman's stick was being held for a good couple seconds as Doughty walked in uncontested.

Literally doesn't surprise me one bit.

I'm shocked by how much interference the Kings get away with. Like, blown away.

They're the best team I've ever seen at clutch-and-grab.

Are you ******** me?

Girardi literally passed the puck to the other team. ANYTHING would have been better. He slipped, he should've ****ing laid on the puck rather than pass it into the Kings at the blueline.

Absolutely unacceptable.

Whether he made the best decision or the worst decision in that instance, the Kings were likely to get the puck and have a good chance to score. They had a few guys in the zone, and there was no other Ranger in the zone.

Rick Nash though. It's like he was trying to one-up Staal and Girardi in terms of dumb plays.

Why does this guy never skate in a straight line for more than 3 seconds? Never crashes the net. How many more times do we have to watch this guy skate up the right wing on an odd man rush, stop, and cleanly get stripped of the puck? The coaching staff need to have a serious talk with him. This has gone on way too long. If I am picking 3 players I want on an odd man rush of any kind, I'm picking Kevin Klein and Derek Dorsett long before I pick Nash.

Nash is trying to do too much; I think a big culprit is that I don't think he has much confidence with Step as a center. I think he feels he has to do it all himself but Step doesn't set him up all that much.

Staal was really good in the Pens series, and has been pretty awful since that series ended. It's like him and McDonagh exchanged crappy play for great play.

I thought it was a hook or hold myself. Was yelling about it.

Some positives:

-Lundqvist is playing really well
-Poo-Brass-Zucc line is playing well
-Penalty Kill is great
-McDonaugh has been stellar
-Hagelin showing his speed

We need to forecheck alot more here to give ourselves more shots

A lot of positives. And that's why I think it's so disheartening we lost. Our best players were our best (Lundqvist/McDonagh) and they got key contributions from depth players (Hagelin, Pouliot) while being fantastic on the penalty kill, and we still lost.

It's a tough one to swallow.

Nash, St. Louis, Richards, etc, all need to be that much better. Richards hasn't done anything since the first two rounds. Nash played okay against Montreal, but did nothing the first two rounds. St. Louis has scored some BIG goals, but even he has been inconsistent.

Look at the Kings. Gaborik, Kopitar, Carter, Doughty, Williams, etc, are their best players on a routine basis. Their best players are their best.

We cannot win this series with just Lundqvist/McDonagh playing at a high level. St. Louis, Richards and Nash all need to be huge factors. If they're not, we don't have a chance.

Sure, maybe Stepan isn't an ideal center for him, but it's the best we've got. (Richards is a pile of dog feces, and Brassard needs to stay with Poo and Zucc.)

But having a non-ideal center doesn't excuse you from screwing up a 3 on 1 that badly. Ballerina twirls also don't happen because of a bad center, and neither do blatant giveaways.

Sports 101 = Don't pass to the other team. Pretty easy.

What is the "role of a defenseman" since I clearly don't know?

Your insight is wonderful.

The role of defenseman in that scenario is not to abandon your partner when he has three forecheckers bearing down.

You don't join the rush without a wing covering your defensive assignment in your end.

Girardi should have eaten the puck if that was the case.

It also didn't help things that McDonagh bailed out and headed up ice.

Everything slowed down when he lost that puck. I knew it was ending up in the back of the net the moment Girardi fumbled.

And please spare us the cliche "have you ever played, brah?" I play hockey multiple nights a week, mostly on crap ice that's beat to **** from use. You eat a puck like that. What you don't do is try and force a stretch pass while off balance. The ice sucked, but that's all on Girardi.

Yes and eating the puck still would have resulted in a Kings chance. He's the only guy back and he's falling to the ground at that point. Bad luck.

No, it doesn't excuse him. But, its a contributing factor. That isn't entirely Steps fault. That isn't entirely Nash's fault. That is Sathers.

Thank you. I'm not even a rangers fan. Flyers fan but I come in peace. It's just gotta call them like you see them. He made a horrible pass and I should know being a fan of the flyers whose whole D core is famous for that.
