What do you want to him to do? It's an absolute miracle they made it to OT. I don't know what other people are encouraged about in terms of winning this series. Girardi and Staal can't make a breakout pass to save their lives. Richards is back to being a non-factor at best. And Nash wouldn't drive straight to the net if you put a gun to his head. The fact that they were apparently wasting their time shouting at the Kings bench that they can play physical too is not encouraging. They should not be wasting their time on that ****.

Trying to outmuscle the Kings is a bad idea. That's not what got us here.

Play. Our. Game.

Pouliot came out of his coma. Rest of the team went into one.

Also the LA obstruction is disgusting. The league should have prayed for a Chicago/NY matchup. That series would have been so much speed and a ton of fun.

I saw about 3000 missed calls tonight.

You misunderstand my point when talking about the ice. The ice is a reason things happened the way they did on that particular play. Both teams deal with it, Kings got a good bounce. It's not so much absolving the player of blame as it is an acknowledgment of how hockey goes sometimes

What no one here realizes is that the Kings basically turned the puck over at the blue line. Girardi tripped as he went to make a pass to spring McDonagh, which was the RIGHT PLAY.

The Kings, had they NOT turned the puck over, would NOT have scored there.

They got LUCKY!

Gotcha. You are correct. On that play though, G could have tapped the puck back to Hank to swallow it. he had to read the pressure coming, realized his predicament, and opted for the safe play. Then again, with our luck tonight G would have probably roofed it over Hank's glove into our own net. lol

But like you say, things happen and that's sports.

Gotta have fine control of the puck to tap it confidently back towards your own net. Girardi did not.

First and second goals were very saveable. Not easy but could have been. First was a mess by all sorts of players but he was down too early and out of position. Second just barely squeezed through him. Like I said he was good, not great. He made the saves I'd expect goalies to make in this game but he didn't do anything outstanding to show how great he can be.

Who cares about the stupid ice...He should not have pass it blindly...he fell k but why that pass???...i hate G for the next couple of days but come Saturday he'll bounce back. Nash on the other hand....I HATE YOU...SCORE DAMMIT

Are you serious?

That's been the Rangers game all year. Are you saying because of this one time Girardi ****ed up on SPORTS 101 it's wrong?

It takes a true professional to **** up as bad as Girardi did. And there's really no way around it.

You really don't understand the role of a defensemen do you?

Answering "No your wrong" without illustrating why isn't a retort. Sports 101? WTF

My thoughts too. He's been the reigning MVP for the Rangers all playoffs and has played well in every single round.

There is not another player on the team who has done well in each round. McDonagh was brutal the first two rounds. Richards was a no show against Montreal. St. Louis went large stretches doing nothing. Nash was a no show the first two rounds. Hagelin did nothing the first 10 games.

It's time for someone else to step up. McDonagh stepped up against Montreal and was fantastic that series. We need our "big" players to be good for more than one series at a time. Lundqvist is the only consistent piece of this team in terms of a round to round basis IMO.

Puck was bouncing all over the place on that whole sequence.

Rick Nash though. It's like he was trying to one-up Staal and Girardi in terms of dumb plays.

Why does this guy never skate in a straight line for more than 3 seconds? Never crashes the net. How many more times do we have to watch this guy skate up the right wing on an odd man rush, stop, and cleanly get stripped of the puck? The coaching staff need to have a serious talk with him. This has gone on way too long. If I am picking 3 players I want on an odd man rush of any kind, I'm picking Kevin Klein and Derek Dorsett long before I pick Nash.

Positives:
Hank
McDonagh
PK
Hagelins speed

Negatives:
Girardi
Nash
PP
Finishing ability

On the last goal I do believe some blame needs to be put on McDonagh he was out of position.. cant do like that in OT when your D parther is under pressure but obviously it is Girardis goal at most. Given the situation he did the worst possible thing. Never throw a blind pass up like that.. recipe for disaster. Girardi wasnt very good this game and needs to be better. He made a few boneheaded plays in the third period as well.

Kings dominated the play for sure but that is to be expected, but it was a close game, I believe this series is winnable. I dont understand all the talks on the mainboard..

Remove Dan G with Staal and I will agree with you.

Sports 101 = Don't pass to the other team. Pretty easy.

What is the "role of a defenseman" since I clearly don't know?

Yep. Like I said, he likely would have scored into our own net if he tried to get it to Hank.

Nash will score next time we're winning 5-1. He'll make it 6-1.

Richards patented "backhand turnover" or "shoot into the skates of the Dman in front of you" is started to spread to other players.

Stepan apparently doesnt know he's allowed to even shoot the puck at all.

Girardi and Staal arent who they used to be.

We're going to win this series on the backs of MSL, Zucc, Brass, D Moore, Boyle, Poo, Kreider, Hags, McD, Stralman and Hank.

Everyone else is suspect... or I may have missed someone, honestly, Ive been drinking... because life. Because Rangers.

Nahs was good in this game until that awful decision he made on the 2 on 1 to stop driving the net and just stop and turni t over.

Haven't seen it mentioned yet (but I try to stay away from GDT's during the game)

Did anyone else think that M. Richards got away with a big time hold on Stralman's stick during Doughty's goal? Stralman's stick was being held for a good couple seconds as Doughty walked in uncontested.

Richards looks like a pile of fresh dog crap again. I swear, he brings down any line he's on.

Richards was actually very short of breath in an interview a couple of minutes before the start of the ?? period (forget which intermission it was). I found that interesting.
I wonder if he can handle a standard shift, the way he was gasping so long after the end of the period makes me think not.
