New Uniforms (please!!)

I like the vintage purple/gold jersey. But I think it's best served retired and only brought out for special tributes.

Makes the Jersey have more of a flare/mystic feel. I don't think I would appreciate that Jersey like I do, if it was the every game one.

The Black/White one's are fine, the players like them, according to Luc they sell well.

So I am fine with it.

Because that's all they flipping sell. They don't offer an authentic purple and gold sweater. The only way to get one is to pay an arm and a leg for a game worn sweater.

It's ridiculous.

Either of these would have been perfect back when they were sitting at the design table. Both are beautiful, can't go wrong with the colours and the logo is much improved in both cases. But overall I think we made out ok. There are far worse jerseys to be condemned to around the league.

Exactly. It's not just that they used the wrong picture for the article. Based on his comments, it's clear he made his assessment looking at the wrong uniform.

He looked at the right uniforms, he just hasn't updated the crest that he used next to the team name in the list.

Click on Los Angeles Kings and it will show you the uniforms he evaluated, correctly in the case of the Kings I might add.

When you look at the jersey as part of the entire uniform, I truly do think that the Kings have one of the sharpest and sleekest looking sets in the league.

Honestly, I'm fine as it is and hope they stick with this setup for a long time.

And I'm just fine seeing the classic throwbacks occasionally on special nights.

Although I realize this is nitpicking, I would prefer if they wore those throwbacks against other clubs that were in existence around the same time they wore the purple and gold. I think it just looks odd when they where those against the ugly, modern jerseys as worn by the Avalanche.

The Kings sweaters are the furthest thing from being the worst in the league. The Senators, Avalanche and Penguins have among the worst jersey aesthetics in the league.

But yeah it isn't very creative. But it certainly isn't close to being the worst in the league.

I would put the logo in the top (bottom) 5.

It's such an obvious tie-in with LA Live across the street it just sickens me. And the Kings are easily the least favorite team in LA (by the media, politicians, general public) yet they choose to show "LA" in the most prominent spot. I'm a Kings fan, not an "LA" fan.

All Kings jerseys and logos could use a slight improvement except for 2: the original purple/gold (no shoulder/arm stripes!) and the Gretzky era silver, black and white. Both of those combos were just pure hockey jersey design perfection.

Nothing else has really come close. The most recent crown was a great logo on below average jerseys, but now AEG has just ****** it all up even more, and I fear I'll be looking at the "LA homeplates" (with a tiny crown) for many, many years to come. Black on black... on still even more black.... (with a lame-*** number font as well) **** yeah!!!!

These jerseys are what I think are perfect.

I do not mind the current jerseys tho. My only issue with the purple/gold jerseys is I can never read the numbers or names...

Not sure what your point it. The Kings original colors because Jack Kent Cooke didn't want it known as purple were forum blue and gold. I know its purple, just a history lesson for the kids.

It's time for some new Uni's. I love what Buffalo did with the new "C" "A" patches. I would want to keep it Black and Grey still but maybe our 3rd would have some purple in it.

well, here are my views on why I like Gretzky era, but am not a fan of the current jerseys.

Gretzky era had:

1. chevy logo was better than current home plate. The word "KINGS" was bigger than "Los Angeles". The logo was silver/gray, which looked great on both the black and white jerseys (there was some contrast). The current black logo only looks ok on the white jersey.
2. wide horizontal stripes at bottom of jersey
3. normal hockey number font
4. gloves had some white/silver trim
5. no wide piping or underarm accents

What I like about the current jerseys:

1. got rid of the "Los Angeles" at bottom of jersey. That's all I can think of. But that credit quickly goes away by them trashing a very good crown logo and slapping on the home plate logo.
