I don't know about that. Look at the original 6 logos and compare it to the 6 expansion teams that were introduced in '67. I don't think the Kings' original logo holds up.
Of those '67 expansion teams, the only timeless logos that still withstand today are the Flyers, Blues, and Penguins. It's also funny to see that 5 of the 6 expansion teams were using yellow in their color scheme. The Kings crown is certainly a classic look, but those yellow uniforms were hideous and by the late 80s they just looked very dated. What worked for the Lakers didn't work as well for the Kings.
They could have kept the logo and altered the color scheme though.
Yup. Plus I think the NHL would have eventually mandated at least one jersey be white. So this could have eliminated the gold one anyway.
My point is it is hard to get a timeless logo when it changes so frequently.

And to think that many want Nike to do the NHL Jerseys because they don't like the Reebok designs.
The Russian jerseys (red ones anyway) are pretty much the same template, fake laces and all.

In general, just about any jersey that was made using a jersey template is not as good as what we had before Reebok showed up in the NHL.
These things look like something a youth league would buy in bulk with just different colors, so they can get a discount.
In other words, jersey templates suck.

These cookie cutter jerseys by companies like Nike and Reebok suck.
They're not horrible, but the light reflecting off the stars looks like dandruff.

um, yeah they are. They look like some futuristic shirt from some remake of Total Recall.
Are there really no good hockey jersey designers anymore?! The sad part is my generation is designing this ****.
I honestly can't find one positive thing to say about these USA jerseys. Ok, after trying to find something: they used a good shade of red and white. That's all I got.

That is just a weird combination of colors to me. I would never wear something like that. The yellow with black and purple is putrid.

Every time I get nostalgic, I immediately think, "Meh, that was before the Kings won the Cup." So I guess the 2012 run is the cure for nostalgia. Anyone else get that feeling?

Saw this thread and wanted to take a whack at creating something interesting.
I'm a bit of a traditionalist as I really like the idea of purple as a Kings' colour, so I combined a few things that I saw from this thread but tried to keep it simple.
Actually, the Lion should be facing to the right. I'm not sure why, it just feels better that way. It's a good start, though!!!

No thanks. Their's just something about the color scheme. Black, white & silver like the one posted earlier is so much better.

I kinda like it, it could be improved though the arms are too busy I think.
