New Uniforms (please!!)

When they remove black from their sweater I'll consider buying one, until then...forget it!

The Kings uniform is uncreative and certainly intimidates no one.

Anyone who copies anything that the Raiders do should be shot on site.

And I don't think that just because they won a cup wearing them I should feel differently about them. A bad looking uniform is bad looking an ugly no matter how successful the team's been wearing them. A 2-year old could have designed these uniforms blindfolded with crayons.

They're a disgrace IMO.

And what was your opinion of the Gretzky-era jerseys?

If the USA wins gold in the 2014 Olympics, they should wear the hideous uniforms they will be sporting forever. So goes the logic for some around here.

I too will buy no jerseys from the Kings where the primary color is black. That is not the Kings' color, it's Luc Robitaille's color.

That's funny. The Kings players themselves prefer the black uniforms as well. I guess they aren't really Kings players then?

They should have stuck with these

It's a sign that we are all Jonesing for hockey when this thread is the busiest one on the Kings board :(

lol - do the Raiders own the colors silver and black?!

Of course not.

What's wrong with the Raiders? Granted, I'm not a Raiders fan but the "shooting on site" comment is pretty tasteless if you ask me.

Are you all upset because the current jerseys are just way too sharp to wear with your jorts?

Do I give two sh**s about what the players like in a uniform? No, I am the customer here, not the players. The purple thirds is a uniform that any NHL player would be proud to wear.

Yes, those were awesome, and they were very similar to what Team USA wore in the 1960 Olympics.

Note to Nike: That is what real laces on a real jersey look like.

Yeah its tasteless when I have a cousin was who was killed for wearing "wrong colors" and he wasn't gang affiliated.

I get what you're saying in regards to the Raiders fan base.. However, you can apply that concept to Dodgers fans, Phillie fans, Eagle fans etc and get the same result.

Seems a little irrational to generalize one of America's largest fanbases as being a group of low lives.

Now that is a classy and beautiful uniform. The travesty that Nike and Reebok has shoved down the throats of hockey fans should be **** on. They just need an excuse to shovel out overpriced pieces of cloth.

I don't know man, back when the purple and gold was LA's colors, players hated having to come here. Unless of course they just wanted to live in anonymity and have zero added pressure to perform, then LA was a safe haven back on those days.

This team had zero identity until Gretzky came to town. It's the same with Pittsburgh whose original colors are outdated. They were an irrelevant hockey team until they got lucky and drafted Lemieux and their primary colors, like the Kings' includes black.

The Bruins are an original six team that later on added black and that's been their trademark color along with "gold." I don't get what some Kings fans have against the black unis. It beats the colors of the lovable losers who looked like bananas on ice.

I don't think anyone is in favor of having the Kings ever go back to all yellow uniforms. Something suitable could be done in white with the crown as the crest and we have seen several photo shopped representations that look very sharp.

IMO, a uniform is at its best when it represents the name of the team. Purple is the color of royalty. The crown in one form or another as a crest is unique and timeless. When I tune into any type of sporting event I like the uniforms of teams that tell me, "Hey that's this team" without even looking at the score on the screen. The current Kings' uniforms don't do that at all.

I think the Penguins' light blue uniforms are pretty cool. No one else in the league has anything close to that color scheme.

I would definitely buy a Dustin Brown jersey that looked like that.

I'm not a huge fan of the logo (I'd rather see a new crown designed), but I don't see what all the fuss is over the color black. We've worn black in some way for the last 25 years. All our dark jerseys have been black for those 25 years.

Also, the argument of "purple is the color of royalty" doesn't really make sense once you get to the world of sports, where colors don't necessarily have to match team names. Sure some teams do (red wings, blues, flames), but a lot don't (bruins aren't yellow or black, sharks aren't teal, coyotes aren't red).

If the USA wins gold in the 2014 Olympics, they should wear the hideous uniforms they will be sporting forever. So goes the logic for some around here.

...

Myself and others on here want the team to continue wearing our Cup winning jerseys, but that doesn't mean we want them to wear them "forever". These jerseys are only 5 years old, and have been our primary for only 2 years. Let's at least give them a good run as our championship uniforms.
