I don't recall authentic purple jerseys ever being available at TEAM LA. So you're telling me if the Kings wanted to buy authentic purple jerseys to sell at TEAM LA, Reebok wouldn't sell them to the Kings? Give me a link, because I don't believe you.

Why do you care that I care? I want to buy the freakin' jersey that I like, not the POS black one. Why does that matter to you?

I have no idea what is true but his explanation seems a lot more plausible than yours. I would think the kings would be happy to sell you the purple jersey if there wasn't some extenuating circumstance. Maybe there isn't? Either way, you are clearly much more of a jersey aficionado than I am and I wasn't trying to upset you. I don't really wear jerseys but I've bought about 4 over the past 5 years of which are a variety colors and none no longer fit. I also didn't realize a jersey must be authentic for some. I guess that is your preference. I do think you'll get your wish and have a purple jersey soon. I can't imagine the kings wouldn't want to sell you something and your idea that Luc is some kind of jersey nazi is just a tad ridiculous. I don't doubt he may had/have influence over the current color scheme but I don't think he is blocking the sale of the current 3rd or that other people in the front office would have made a dramatic shift back to the early purple jerseys if he weren't in the way. That's just my opinion.

At any rate, I don't care about jerseys and I'm sorry for getting you all worked up. I was being sarcastic for the most part but I really don't believe some of your logic for why some jerseys have been sold and others aren't. I bought the following jerseys in the past six years and I think most were bought at staples summer sale:

Purple and yellow 80's style (I think that is the correct era - I'm only 32)
Gretzky era black with fight strap (not sure if that makes it authentic)
Black home plate
Black crown
Purple shielded third

I think we should all pitch in and buy you a purple jersey and an ice cream cone. :)

How nice for you. Why bother posting in this thread?

The same reason I post on this board. I have no life. I'm bored in a hotel room in Hotlanta. I told you as much in my first post. I was reading the thread and amused at the amount of passion people have for a piece of polyester. I get everyone has their own favorite color or style but I don't think one's opinion on the matter is more valuable or "right" than another's. It is simply a matter of taste.

the legends jerseys they sold briefly were from CCM, they weren't the Reebok authentics. i had moved out of town a few years prior so i didn't see them firsthand. from all the discussions ive read about it the color was slightly different. mainly because the CCMs still were using the older air mesh fabric. the fabric has a duller color compared to the Edge jerseys, which are a softer fabric and will be a bit brighter when compared side by side.

the few people that were able to get their hands on them said they replicas and not authentics, so the weight was slightly less.

i love hockey jerseys...period. the wife doesn't understand it, but i've loved them since i got my first one at the age of 7. i just started getting into collecting them, so there is A LOT to learn about them.

The ones that are still available are just like you described and are CCM-branded and made in Indonesia. I saw them out for sale at the NHL store in NYC a few months back.

However back before Reebok switched to the Indo-Edge for retail authentics there was a very small run of purple Vintage/Legends Edge 1.0s made available for retail. I know that IceJerseys had them for a short time but I don't know who else had them. While most that you see on eBay are fake every once in a while a real one pops up (there were two that sold about a month back).

As for how Reebok works, I don't have any links saved and would have to search but honestly I couldn't care less if anyone believes me that that is how jersey sales are operated with Reebok. I don't feel like debating it lol.

I didn't say mine was, even though it is. :)

However, when someone that has little or no style says get over it, well they can stick it.

I have a replica CCM jersey. The only way to get an authentic that I know of is to drop around $1000 on a game worn jersey.

Why does this have to be so black and white (no pun intended) for some people. Can we not like both color schemes? Does liking one mean we have to hate the other?
