My concern is that Maye becomes the bears target, or someone else falls in love with Maye and trades up for him, leaving us with this nut case CW.

It'll go how it goes. I wouldn't be so quick to be oversold on Maye, either. Safer pick, now it seems also less drama, but he's hardly a can't-miss prospect. There are lots of justifiable concerns there.

So I personally don't care which it is. The new regime will decide if we need a QB and act accordingly. My only hope is that they hang on to Howell so they have 2 shots at one working out. There's real talent there, and I'd rather they push each other so we see who's actually better than continue to pay millions for journeyman backups.

Williams would instantly go onto my personal 'do not draft in the 1st round list', pending a combine interview.

Mayo was the inside linebacker coach, not even a coordinator. 4 total years of coaching experience. The Pats either know something the rest of us don't know, or they are just saying "fuggit", whoever follows BB is doomed anyway so let's not waste time on a real search.
Could be the cheapest coaching salary option as well.

Stoked about Peters. Cunningham seemed also pretty impressive from what I read/watched analysis-wise.

Don't want of the scouting regime to stay just ship them to the moon.

I would still take Caleb over Maye if both are sitting there at the #2 pick. But it does feel like a 1A 1B situation regarding the Commanders will have a QB to rebuild with.

Does anyone think peters makes a big splash to start off like trade jon allen or terry. Try and get younger

Big story on ESPN about the NE situation for the last several years -- lots going on there, and some stuff that makes the Mayo hiring, not exactly head-scratching, but certainly doesn't sound like a slam-dunk.
Sounds like it could take a few years to sift through the wreckage of what's happened there.

If I were you guys Id go after Harbaugh. Guy can develop quarterbacks has a .740 winning percentage, came into a similiar situation in SF. Billy and Petey are too old

Could be. Feels like Allen might be more likely -- or a better option -- than Terry. Allen's been discontented, Terry's been nothing but a soldier and seems like the top legacy guy to win over and be a leader for the new transition.
Also, while I think we definitely still need a WR, if we get rid of TM17, that need moves higher.

So is Peters GM or Head of Football Ops and he’s going to hire a GM?
It's been reported as GM, and stated that he's head of football ops as part of that.
Harris said he had his idea of the preferred structure, but that he was open to modifying that based on how interviews went. Seems like Peters made the case that he could run the operation and lead the talent side as well.
I like that the owner has an open mind and is willing to learn/adjust as the situation merits.

Fine with either Williams or Maye, if Williams doesn’t declare that really throws a wrench in things. Williams seems like the better player but definitely seeing some maturity concerns with him.

Chicago just traded for Sweat and has DJ Moore, Kmet and two high picks. That’s a team that could be good next year. Surprised CW is nixing that completely, seems over-the-top.

He looks like a legit NYG reporter. Makes me wonder if they want to trade up for Caleb

LOL more from him

I haven't followed Caleb Williams closely, but I don't know where all this hatred towards him comes from. Esp. those questioning his character and saying he has an attitude problem. There seems to be a lot of unsubstantiated rumors floating around regarding Williams. I'm sensing a whole lot of "just shut up and dribble" types of comments towards him.

It’s pretty funny how a few jumped all over his ass like they were just lathered up waiting…I don’t follow him closely either. Easy to get fired up over I guess…

There's a fairly lengthy list of questionable things, maturity wise, that you don't see the successful QBs doing. Painting profanity on his fingernails, refusing to shake the other teams hand after a loss, crying on the sideline and then refusing to speak to media availability (a requirement) afterwards.

Just Google his behavior/character issues, they're well reported.

I'll concede, he's not getting in trouble with the law, or being caught cheating. It's just maturity things, mainly. Still cause for concern when contemplating him at 1 overall.

If you haven't followed him, it's easy to understand the mob mentality. But the reporting about him refusing to go to the bears does fit a pattern of real things he's demonstrated. Not automatic deal breakers, but definitely cause for concern.

Maybe you west coast guys get more than you want of him than the rest of us do, given the geographic coverage…I don’t hear much bad about him, but then again I don’t care about things like painting his nails.

Have to leave it to Peters now…not even worth getting fired up about potential red flags. The process will hopefully find out if those are just growing pains or real issues.
