This is what I'm thinking they're up to. Why fire the OC AND get rid of the QB? Chances are they're blaming one or the other, more or less.

Tossing the OC says to me "we're going to give Fields another shot and get him a top WR and new OC, then we'll see how it goes".

I think they'll also probably find a better veteran backup QB this offseason. There should be plenty available.
Or they want a fresh (presumably better) OC to work with their shiny new QB from day one. Added plus - during the interview process they get more outside opinions about what they should with their whole QB decision.

While I get the angle, I’m just not sure I see this as much of an indication either way as far as keeping Fields. Obviously it would be great for us, but I still think it’s unlikely they pass on CW.

This is pretty surprising. PC is an institution. Guy is a player's coach and imo has done really well in Seattle despite at least 1/2 to 3/4 of that division being pretty tough each year. Seattle finished 1st or 2nd in that division all but 3 seasons under PC and in one of those years the 3 other NFC West teams were in the playoffs.

He's had a winning season the last 2 years with Geno f***ing Smith and Drew f***ing Locke but I guess that's not good enough, and they figure he's washed without prime Russell f***ing Wilson and a fresh Legion of Boom.

I don't know if WFT mgmt is going to consider going this route but they should at least interview him and think about it.

Sam Howell has a pretty good resume as crash test dummy
Held up nicely! Tough SOB!

He’s staying on as an advisor….love me some Pete, but he’s a little long in the tooth. I’d prefer we have young fresh new blood myself….no old hats this go around….no retreads.

He says he's not washed up, of course.

Crazy this season's 4 game losing streak was the only one of his career in Seattle.

Would be interesting to see how bears go about draft

Early thoughts among the talking heads is they aren’t keeping Eberflus to restart with another rookie QB, that the decision to stay with him and Field’s performance later in the season means they will likely trade the pick. Let’s see if CW or the significant bounty is more attractive.

Here's just one mock draft where we focus on the OL. This mock draft simulator is absurdly fun, even if its not based on reality at all. And I hate drafting for need, but this is still interesting.

36. Troy Fautanu, G, Washington (6-4, 317 pounds)

Fautanu's calling card is pure physicality, but he's risen up draft boards by showing high upside with his blocking agility and quickness.

44. Tyler Guyton, OT, Oklahoma (6-7, 327 pounds)

Guyton keeps getting more draft buzz, as it's evident he has some quick feet and agility to go with an impressive, mauling frame.

71. Jackson Powers-Johnson, G, Oregon (6-6, 320 pounds)

Powers-Johnson, as his last name might indicate, plays with great power and quickness as a top-flight run blocker who can grow in pass protection.

91. Zach Frazier, C, West Virginia (6-3, 310 pounds)

Frazier is a quick, strong anchor in the running game who has good room for technique improvement in pass protection.
Speaking as a mock draft addict (um, I've only done about 60 in the last month), PFF's is pretty good. It gets better closer to the draft in that opens up to all 7 rounds and allows trades without signing up.
That said, when you're going against the server, the server does some crazy shit, and I always end up going, "OK, but there's no way Malik Nabors is actually going to be available with our 2nd 2nd rounder, so I'm NOT going to take him." That's not a statement about PFFs, it's applies to all of them.
PFN's is pretty good, too, and allows full 7, plus trades (which are almost always asinine offers that would never actually happen in the real world -- at least not since Vinny Cerrato left the league.)

Zinter would 100% be a decent investment pick from the 4th on -- never know how much a late-year injury pushes a guy down in April. He'd probably not make the field in '24, but could be a long-tern starter starting in '25.

Jonathan Allen: “I’m not looking for a rebuild, I’m looking to win now.” But he liked what Harris had to say.

I didn’t realize that he will turn 29 next week. Crazy how fast time flies.

He has a couple years left with a cap number ~ 22M AAV. I wonder what they could get for him before/during the draft? He seemed to have an underachieving year, by his standards. Of course, the whole D was terrible.

Surprising, but he hates NIL and the transfer portal. I guess he doesn’t like competing without every top player going to ‘Bama.

Plus, this crazy 12 team playoff starts next year. So, he takes his 6 titles and walks as a legend, rather than holding on too long like his buddy BB.

Paul Finebaum in shambles, lol.

I think all the coaches hate having to “buy players”…..even deep pocket schools.

Pete Carroll to Alabama!
